Some of these folks who go to pawnshops just to have gas money can't afford new cars. Usually their old gas guzzlers are paid off. Any savings from the increased MPG will probably still not be enough to cover the monthly payment one will have to make on a new car.

perhaps folks should consider a smaller, more economical vehicle? Even the freakin' pizza delivery guys here that I work with drive big monster guzzlers that get about 6 miles to the gallon. If they weren't trying to make up for other short comings, and bought a sensible car, maybe they wouldn't have to pawn off all their valuables to fill the tank.

When they start complaining about the gas prices I point out to them that the US has the lowest gas prices in the Western world. Canada, the UK and Europe are paying far higher prices than we are here. If you don't want to spend $60 to fill up your tank in your gas guzzling UAV (urban assault vehicle...not a single one of them has ever seen a dirt road unless it was a highway under repair) then get a smaller car!

amen! Me and my husband bought a pickup truck last year and we are really debating on whether or not to keep it, even though my husband does need it for various projects and it hauls quite a bit!

but those 35-40 mpg corollas are starting to look mighty tempting...

I aint cool enough for a signature.....

Peace to All creatures great and small............................................

But when we turn to the Hebrew literature, we do not find such jokes about the donkey. Rather the animal is known for its strength and its loyalty to its master (Genesis 49:14; Numbers 22:30).
