What time do you have to be at the hospital?

Don't just open your mouth and prove yourself a fool....put it in writing.

It gets harder the more you know. Because the more you find out, the uglier everything seems.

Ive always planned to nurse, and Ahmed's gung-ho on it. (Insert TMI warning here) The faucets have been on for months, but Im just having last minute jitters. I talked to mom last night and that helped ease my fears. I just have to remember there's nothing wrong with giving formula if thats what it comes down to. As long as he gets plenty to eat, thats what matters.

What time do you have to be at the hospital?

9:30 am to meet w/Dr. then we'll toodle next door to the hospital at 10 to prep. C-section is scheduled for noon.

Something you may want to talk to the nurses about before your section is to not let them put anything in the babys mouth....(pacifier, sugar water) Also, it seems a lot of nurses are all into putting a silicone shield over your breast while you nurse. All of the above happened with my son and he never nursed. They tried the stupid silicone nipple, nipple shields and after 6 weeks, my baby crying because he was hungry....me being a wreck....I finally said forget it! Later I learned that once they get the feel of a pacifer or another bottle nipple in their mouth, they want. Bottle nipples and pacis don't require a lot of sucking power and the breast does. With my daughter I made it very clear that I didn't want anything in her mouth period and she was like a hoover. Nursing at first is not easy so if you really want to do it, you have to stick with it. It probably took a good 2 weeks before I really know what I was doing with my daughter. Best of luck tomorrow! You'll do fine!

aww..yayyy!!

i wish you alll the best!! if you ever need anything--my sister's a labor and delivery nurse...

my sister nursed for about a year and a half--it was painful sometimes...but alhamdulillah, her daughter was very very healthy--she rarely got sick...she also gave her formula, but she nursed most of the time...she says it makes you closer to the baby..but i remember it was really bad sometimes when her daughter didn't want it because she would have to pump the milk instead--she used the Avent pumper...anyway, i'm babbling...

i pray you have an easy delivery and sooon you'll have your little bundle of joy in your arms! :luv:

all the best!! (L)

::There’s a laugh in my eyes::

There’s a waltz in my walk

And it’s been such a long time

Since there was hope in my talk

If you never knew

What it is that’s new.. it’s you

‘Cause when your hands are in mine

You set a fire that everyone can see

And it’s burning away

Every bad memory

To tell you the truth

If it’s something new.. baby it’s you

It’s you in the morning

It’s you in the night

A beautiful angel came down

To light up my life

The world’s a different place

Where nothing’s too hard to say

And nothing’s too hard to do

Never too much to go through

To tell you the truth

Everything that’s new.. baby it’s you

It’s you in the morning

It’s you in the night

A beautiful angel came down

To light up my life

My life, my life

Ohh

So if I get to grow old (oh if I get to grow old)

With many years behind me (many years behind me)

There’s only one thing I want (aahh)

One thing I need beside me

For all that you are

For everything you do

For all that you’ve done

Just for showing me the truth
