cancelled AOS interview

Seems I am in the same boat as others...my first interview for AOS (31 Jan.) was cancelled on the 8th of Jan because of "unforseen circumstances"and "if another interview is resheduled" they will send me something in the mail. I Have read some of the advice on this site that says to go to interview anyway. Did not go (have 4month old baby, no car and live 3 hrs from the immigration office) Now waiting for notice of resheduled interview. over a month has passed and nothing from immigration has arrived in mail. tried the 1800 line they can tell me nothing (don't even have on my file any information on the correspondence they sent to me of the sheduled interview then the cancellation)

What's my next move? Make an interview at local office through INFO PASS on internet to find out the status/progress of my case?

You didn't go to the first interview because if was 'difficult' (baby, no car, distance) but now you're willing to to the local office for an INFOPASS appointment to find out about your case? The advice given, to go the interview anyways, regardless of cancellation notice, is done for a reason. Some have experienced problems and additional unnecessary delay because they took the cancellation notice at face value and did not attend.

So yes, if you're worried about not receiving a second interview letter, and you cannot find information from calling the service center, you should make an appointment and try to find out about your case.

Please schedule an Infopass immediately. I have heard others who just wait and wait to hear news of their case, but none comes. Later they find out that their case was REJECTED due to not showing up to the interview (yes, the CANCELED one!). It is totally senseless and unfair! So be proactive and act NOW! Good luck!
