We just booked our honeymoon. We were going to go to San Francisco, but now that I am allowed to leave the country again, we're going to Puerto Vallarta Mexico. I am so excited!

Has anyone been there?

We got married in Jamaica so it was our "Weddingmoon" We were at Puerto Vallarta before that and we really liked it. We stayed at the Grand Marival in Neuvo Vallarta. It was good but the place you are looking into looks really nice and romantic. Check out the reviews for it on TripAdvisor.... http://www.tripadvisor.com/Hotel_Review-g1...ic_Coast.html... just don't take them too much to heart because no matter what there will always be someone that has something crappy to say, but always nice to see what others have to say rather than going by what their nice glossy brochure or website. I'm sure it will be great and have Fun!

We stayed close to home...went to Gatlinburg Tennessee a couple days after we married. We had to wait til his family left the States before we could go anywhere. We are thinking of taking another "honeymoon" and maybe going to Puerto Rico or to Turks-Caicos, or maybe even an Alaska cruise. Depends on when, finances, etc.

We booked there. I have heard mostly good things about it. I have never been to mexico so this is exciting!

My mother when there in the mid-90's just when it was getting "set up" for tourists.. She had the time of her life, really enjoyed the people, the feel of the town and the hotel. She said the whole town was basically created for tourists, when she went there she said there were light poles and streets that went to nowhere - obviously they were still building sections of the town!

We didn't have a honeymoon, I had to leave the day after we got married :P

At our 1 year anniversary though, we rented a cabin up in the mountains for a long weekend http://www.hotspringstreehousecabins.com/index.htm It was really nice. There's a really old cemetary right next to Cabin #2 (the one we stayed in) We spent about half a day just wandering around the cemetary reading the headstones. The most "recent" markers are from the 1920's IIRC, the oldest ones are from mid-1800's I think. (it was a while ago).

Another nice North Carolina spot if you're a beaches and pirates lover is Ocracoke. Its remote, there's no chain fast food or convenience stores (island by-law, they're not allowed) but its absolutely gorgeous. We've stayed at Black Beard's Lodge, (it's ok, but if you can find something else, go there) as well as camped. We got hit with storms both times, and the time we were in our tent it fell down around our ears at aroud 2:30am. We spent the rest of the night in the truck, with Bruno under the truck and George inside with us. Bruno wasn't at all amused at having the tent fall down around him, and prefered to be outside. We need a better stormy weather tent ;)

Oh wow. That looks lovely Sprailenes. No wonder you're excited. I'm sure you'll have a GREAT time. Don't forget to head down to the outdoor market under the bridge in Puerto Vallarta. Lots of interesting things to see. And the restaurant there has amazing margaritas and martinis. Yum.

My parents went to Puerto Vallarta and they LOVED it. That says a lot 'cause my mom is very discerning when it comes to these things.

We got married in Vegas which was amazing and our honeymoon was a DREAM.

The day after the wedding we had brunch with everyone and then we drove to Grand Canyon for the sunset. We continued roadtripping - staying at KOA campgrounds in Amarillo Texas, Fort Smith Arkansas, Nashville Tennessee and finally got to Virginia. We stopped at the Cadillac Ranch and a bunch of cheesy attractions along the way. We bought a CB radio at a truckstop so we could talk to all the truckers on the way. It was an AMAZING honeymoon. The BEST.

It was a practical honeymoon 'cause we actually had to get to VA anyway so we made it into a honeymoon.
