Hmmmm. I've never noticed any unpleasantries towards members from other regions in the Russian forum. I think maybe each country has unique characteristics and its perhaps a little difficult to relate. I don't know. The guys in the Russian forum seem to be well educated, well spoken, good mannered, good spirited, happy and helpful....not to mention hillarious! We have a bit of fun there and consider ourselves pretty lucky to be in good company. You're all welcome to drop by.....if you dare :lol::lol:

I read most regional forums if an interesting post pops up. I haven't read much that isnt' true for all of us across the board.

Never really feel like any posts are unwelcome.

Life's just a crazy ride on a run away train

You can't go back for what you've missed

So make it count, hold on tight find a way to make it right

You only get one trip

So make it good, make it last 'cause it all flies by so fast

I post most often in the UK forum and haven't noticed any unfriendliness there. And as far as Canada goes... I've lurked there and posted a few times, but have never seen anything unwelcoming others. I've also posted in Latin America, where they were quite friendly to my questions of advice. It's been ages since I looked in MENA, but it did seem kinda unfriendly then to me. But I guess I'm going to have to check out Russia....hehehe

i read but seldom post

But when we turn to the Hebrew literature, we do not find such jokes about the donkey. Rather the animal is known for its strength and its loyalty to its master (Genesis 49:14; Numbers 22:30).

I basically also just use the (most recent posts) to see whats new or if there is some little something i would be able to help with. Not all answers will qualify thru all embassys so that can be tricky, also mostly attached to the OT group but seems as if some are now gone from the MENA it is getting to be a more friendly group (some have always been great help there)

no option in the last one for "if no".....

where's the no option to the last question?

Yeah.... I should have thought that one through better. I think most people are using the "No, I don't read the Regional Forums" choice as their "No" for the last question. It's too bad I can't edit the poll and change some things.

I think you can edit! (since you're an organizer) Try a complete edit instead of the quick edit.

It just lets me edit my post, but not the poll. It'd probably throw the whole thing out of whack, though, if I did try to edit it. Oh well.

I spend most of my time in the Africa: Sub-Saharan section. But sometimes I go into the Latin-America, Mexico, Caribbean section. They're really nice there. I usually only scan through to read the potwah in hopes that it will help me understand pidgin english better.

I only use the "recent posts" thing. I never go looking through individual forums. If I see an interesting topic, I'll reply to it, sometimes only realizing later that it is in the Canada forum, the Russian forum, or whatever.

I do that too. But I do tend to visit the Canada Forum and say "Hi" first, before I hit the "View New Posts" link and end up all over the place. I used to feel unwelcome in the UK Forum for a time. Which was especially hurtful because I'm from there. But I don't feel that anymore. My sense of belonging, perhaps, probably has more to do with getting to know the VJ regulars and feeling comfortable with them, than any real sense of them not wanting me around. You learn pretty quickly which ones are nice, which ones have a good sense of humour, which ones take everything too seriously, which ones are here to help, and which ones are just plain mean. That helps me come to terms with what I read in most posts on VJ.

I'm glad you feel welcomed in the UK forum because I always enjoy your posts there!

I post in the UK forum...we have some great people although I can understand how it would come across as clique.

I lurk mainly in Russia because I enjoy Russian cinema and have a fascination with the country in general (I am too scared to post).

I think I'll have to start lurking in Canada, too.
