Hello Everyone!!

We are new here. We did post a bit about us in the "Introducing Our Members" section of the forum.

We have our interview next week--May 3. Paul just received his social security card the same day we received the letter to come in for the interview. We did not have time to get anything in both names since he did NOT have a social yet. We do have a joint checking account in both names and our home phone bill in both names, but that is all. We didn't have time for anything else since we received the notice of our interview so quickly. We don't even have a lease for the place we're at. I haven't had a lease for 3 years, so I hope those two things will be ok. I do have loads of pics however. Any input is greatly appreciated.

03/20/06- EAD received in mail

03/22/06- Applied for Social Security Number

04/06/06- Started first job in America

04/29/06- Passed the test at the DMV, now have a state permit to drive

05/03/06- AOS approved! I-551 stamped in passport!!

05/15/06- Green Card arrived in mail!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

05/08/08 - Received Extension letter

05/24/08 - Received 2nd letter for Biometrics appointment for June 4, 2008

05/31/08 - Went to biometrics appointment on May 31, 2008, said Paul did not have to go on June 4th, computer glitch.

06/04/08 - Case was "touched"

When you're at the interview, let them know that he's only been here a short time and you've yet to put his name on bills and such. I wouldn't worry too much about it, considering you have a joint checking account. I'm sure you'll be just fine. Good luck!!!!!

6/19/2002- Met Online

11/10/2002- Met in person for the first time at Buffalo International Airport we spend a blissful but all too short week together.

2/23/03- David proposes on the beach in Melbourne Florida at sunrise during his second visit.

9/26/03- After much talk with USCIS we decide to go ahead and get married during David's third visit, with David planning on returning to Ireland the following week.

9/30/03- Phone USCIS to ask questions on filling out paper work and USCIS officer informs us that if David is already here he doesn't need to leave. After numerous calls to the Irish Embassy and two more calls to USCIS to confirm, we decide he will stay.

12/02/03- Petition for AOS recieved

10/8/04- EAD FINALLY arrives

11/10/2004- Our Son Colin Michael Kieran born two years to the minute after our first face to face meeting!

1/26/06- Recieved interview appointment letter.

3/09/06- AOS approved! David is a permanent resident with stamp in passport.

4/4/06- Green card arrives. We are now free to travel back to Ireland so David can see his family for the first time in more than two years.

Hi,

Our interview date is coming up too. May 16th. Anton and I are in the same situation you are in, we have a joint bank account, I just put another cellphone on my phone account, he got his AZ driver's license, and I will put him on my 401-K as the first beneficary. We do not spend much money, and don't want to get any further into debt so haven't been spending . He keeps an account book of what $ goes in and out for food and "family expenses" so we have our reciepts since we usually pay cash for everything or debit, (me).

We are pretty lucky as our interview is right here in Tucson, and it's close to my house.

I have rented for the last 16 years from an old guy who's like my grandpa. I just pay him each month and we don't have any contracts.

All I can say is walk in with confidence, what proof of relationship you have, and speak honestly and I believe all will go well.

16 May 2005 - Assembled health package, W2s.

Good luck! They have to take notice of the length of time you've been married... it's not reasonable to expect the same things from somebody who's been married three months, as from somebody who's been married two years. Don't panic - just take what you have... and good luck!

hey Mel and Paul,

if you are concerned just to be on the safe side, get your family/friends to write a letter saying you have a bona-fide marriage, and you can also get a blockbuster card in both names :D:thumbs:

March 28th 2013 - Priority date/ NOA 1
November 14th 2013 - Transferred to Nebraska Service Center

January 7th 2014 - Case changed online to approved for both

January 8th 2014 - case changed to shipped to NVC

January 9th 2014 - case changed to NOA 2 mailed

January 10th 2014 - Received the hardcopy of the NOA 2 stating that NVC would issue a case number in 30 days approx.

January 21st 2014 - Case Received at NVC

February 26th 2014 - Case numbers and IIN number received - Wrong embassy code assigned...now waiting for new case numbers.

March 3rd 2014 - Filled in DS-261 for both parents

March 5th 2014- AOS available, paid and submitted AOS packet.

March 6th 2014 - USPS shows packet was delivered at NVC

March 10th 2014 - AOS shows as paid in the CEAC portal/AOS logged into system as being received by NVC.

March 11th 2014 - New case number assigned for my Dad.

March 20th 2014 - Paid IV fee for my Mum.

March 25th 2014 - AOS accepted by NVC with no checklist.

March 26th 2014 - Filled in and submitted DS-260 for my Mum

March 31st 2014 - AOS found in my Mum's file for my Dad - accepted and placed into his file/IV fee available for my Dad and Paid.

April 1st - Mailed all civil documents to NVC for both parents.

April 3rd: IV fee shows as paid in portal/submitted DS-260 for my Dad.

April 22nd: checklist issued for civil documents - NVC error ...

April 23rd: sent another certified copy of my marriage certificate

April 24th: Case complete! :)

April 30th 2014 - Medical scheduled for parents at Knightsbridge in London

June 11th: Interview at London Embassy - Approved :)

In our interview we showed the we had a joint checking account,the interviwer also asked if we had a debit card,we said yes he asked to see her card with her name on it. Good luck! :thumbs:
