I'm glad you're okay. The first thing I thought of when you said the guy didn't have a license etc. is that he had fled or something. That happened to us twice. Luckily, both times I looked at their license plate and am good at remembering stuff like that. They got caught both times. It's so stupid how they don't even stop to see if you are okay...

Oh Scott I am sorry to hear about that car crash. The damages sounds like it takes time to fix but we thankful that you are not hurt. (F)

You still go to the VJ party later right ?

Oh, I'll still be at the party, we have two vehicles :)

Oh man, I'm sorry Scott, but good thing no one was injured. Did this happen late at night? At least the guy stopped...some don't. Hope that your insurance will go after him. Your Element may be totalled. :(

No, it was about 7:40am. I don't know how much my insurance can do about going after him; I strongly suspect he is an illegal alien.

I'm sorry about your car Scott, that sux! will your insurance cover the repairs? glad you're ok (F)

Saludos,

Caro

ps: Fancy, the pic on your siggy??

Yes, they should cover everything. And I'm told that since I have uninsured motorist coverage, even my deductible will be taken care of.

No, he at least did one thing right, he did stop. He admitted he had no license or insurance when I told him to produce those. When I called the police, he kept saying, "Oh my God.." and asking me not to. I didn't offer any sympathy at all; told him he had no business whatsoever being on the road without a license, insurance and registration. Whatever difficulties he has now are simply not my problem. He should have been driving legally, and he should have had his eyes open and brain in gear before attempting to make that turn in front of me.

Oh Lordy. He expected you to just let him go cause he begged? What if someone had really gotten hurt? He simply should have contemplated the consequences of driving without a license, registration, and insurance.

Well, he was foolish enough to drive without a license, registration, and insurance, and without paying attention to traffic and the rules of the road, so no surprise that he was stupid enough to think I'd just let bygones be bygones ;)

Sorry to hear about your new car getting damaged! Glad no one was hurt. It's good your insurance will cover it, but it stinks that you will have to get the work done on it and be without it while it's getting fixed.

Married since 9-18-04(All K1 visa & GC details in timeline.)

The Element is being repaired now. The damage isn't as extensive as I thought it might be; mostly just bent sheet metal, no structural damage. The repair costs are $4,500, which my insurance will be covering. It will take about three weeks, though, which means I have to take Lai to work about an hour and a half earlier than she usually goes, and I will be missing midweek Lent services and choir practice. I guess things could have been worse...

Will you be able to recoup any of the cost by going after this guy legally?
