micheltsmith,

Points of clarification:

- Neither I-129f nor I-130 are visas. They are petitions, prerequisites for marriage-based visa applications.

- The I-129f is prerequisite for a K visa, which is not a visitor visa. The B visas are the visitor visas.

Does anyone know what causes the wide range of time it takes for an approval on a I-129F.I know on the rcpt it says from 60 to 180 days, why is that?

I am not for sure on this answer but is my opinion. Anyway the I-129F is a visiting visa that is for a fiance. so the marriage takes place 90 days after entering the US. Then after the marriage and adjustment of status and then permanent residence. The I-130 is a permanent residence spouse visa which means that you already married and when entering US permanently (with social security also possible) until full citizenship is acquired. So I believe the requirements are the same overall but lets you wait in the us as a visitor first. If anyone can eloborate please fill in. So the I-130 may be longer because it is not a visiting visa but a permanent one. Hopefully this helps.

Our case was filed at the Missouri Service Center but the postmark was California I don't know if there is anything you can do from the humanitarian angle if your case is not older than the allotted 180 days

This whole process is one of frustration and aggravation and I look at the illegal aliens here who want rights and trying to do it the correct way we can't get any satisfaction and its tearing our family apart, marriage is hard already no need for the extra burdena and health issues but we love her and try to perservere but any advice or anything to help would greatly be welcomed
