Hi,

It may be a stupid question but I was asking myself, how would we do without VJ? I checked the USCIS website but I can't find any guidelines nor anything about how, for example, a K1 VISA works and what needs to be done, etc. Maybe I didn't check well enough but I don't think anyone can find clear instructions, except the instructions that comes with the different forms but you can imagine how difficult the whole process would be if that's all we had.

My point is that I don't know how my wife and I would have done without this website and we're still in the process and I know I will still need you guys as well as this website. I just find it absolutely unbelievable that the USCIS website doesn't provide these information. But again, maybe I didn't search the website well enough so if you know where to find guidelines etc on USCIS, just let me know, out of curiosity...

I got lot of help from VJ, especially its guides and members' experiences which made our process easier. Members like Aussiewench (Lorelle)

Hear, hear. Shame that VJ STILL can't stomach the idea of acknowledging her contribution to others' immigration process, isn't it?

When WILL that link to work again, I wonder

1. Solely read the form's instructions.

2. Pull hair out

disclaimer: the instructions on the forms should be read in addition to VJ

I have a love-hate relationship with VJ.

What I love about it is that for just about every aspect of the application process I have found the info I need or at least a starting point to look elsewhere. I honestly don't know how well I would have fared without it. I have found a lot of support here from people going through the process with me and also from people who went through it long ago but take the trouble to answer all the panicky newbie questions without ever judging someone's lack of knowledge or fear of the process.

What I hate about VJ is that I'm aware sometimes that it has become an obsession. I spend far too much time on here than I should. And like others have said, I'm sure sometimes it is just serving to fill the time whilst I'm waiting to be with my fiance. That's why I really respect the people who have stuck around to help others. I don't know whether I can be that unselfish once I'm with him again.

Ditto! we would have made so many mistakes without VJ, we didn't know where to start! we also had a lot of misconceptions, for example, we thought the fiance visa requiered having known each other for at least 2 years, and that because of that our only option was to get married in my home country, and then separate for the process (which we didn't want to be separated after being married).

and regarding FBI, I've looked around it, I think VJ is far more user friendly... and more fun :P

VJ/ VJers, you rock! :luv::thumbs:

Caro

VJ should put out a 'tip jar'....cuz they (and the people on here) helped save me several thousand in attorney costs through the use of the guides and practical advice of their constituents.

Lets see...what is 15% of several thousand???

Peace to all!

::There’s a laugh in my eyes::

There’s a waltz in my walk

And it’s been such a long time

Since there was hope in my talk

If you never knew

What it is that’s new.. it’s you

‘Cause when your hands are in mine

You set a fire that everyone can see

And it’s burning away

Every bad memory

To tell you the truth

If it’s something new.. baby it’s you

It’s you in the morning

It’s you in the night

A beautiful angel came down

To light up my life

The world’s a different place

Where nothing’s too hard to say

And nothing’s too hard to do

Never too much to go through

To tell you the truth

Everything that’s new.. baby it’s you

It’s you in the morning

It’s you in the night

A beautiful angel came down

To light up my life

My life, my life

Ohh

So if I get to grow old (oh if I get to grow old)

With many years behind me (many years behind me)

There’s only one thing I want (aahh)

One thing I need beside me

For all that you are

For everything you do

For all that you’ve done

Just for showing me the truth

I just clicked the FBI link and it works. Lorelle is really a great person. She would reply your question with a great details. I wish she is still at this site. VJ newbies would have been benefitted, if she were here now.

I-130 Timeline with USCIS:

It took 92 days for I-130 to get approved from the filing date

NVC Process of I-130:

It took 78 days to complete the NVC process

Interview Process at The U.S. Embassy

Interview took 223 days from the I-130 filing date. Immigrant Visa was issued right after the interview
