NVC Help

I just received my NOA2 yesterday from USCIS. Now its time to deal with the NVC  . I've read James Shortcuts and it seems pretty straight forward. However, is there an updated DS-3032 form? The only one I can see shows a date of 12/2006.

Also, is the I-864 fee bill $70 or has that changed?

I wasn't expecting an early approval which I'm thrilled about, but it seems I have to get going with the NVC requirements.

Thanks and please :help: I appreciate any advice from anyone on VJ.

You can download the DS3032 from the NVC another way you can send an email to NVC. I emailed and it was acceptable.

Yes but the expiration date for that form is 12/31/2006 on the NVC site. Should I use this anyway?

That is the most current form, so yes, you can use that one - you can always check the link below for the latest copy of each form, it's a good idea:

http://travel.state.gov/visa/frvi/forms/forms_1342.html

It's still $ 70.00 for the affidavit for support fee bill. That information can be found here: link

From that page:

Is there a fee I will need to pay for the Affidavit of Support forms?

Yes, there is a $70 fee for reviewing each of the Affidavit of Support (AOS) forms I-864, I-864A, I-864W and I-864EZ when the AOS form(s) is filed domestically in the U.S. See our list of Fees.

Thanks trailmix for the info. I do have another question about the DS-3032. In using James' Shortcuts, I understand my wife, the beneficiary, has to fill it out and sign it. This may be a stupid question, but I'm assuming she would put her address in her foreign country and not mine in the states (we are not using a lawyer). Is this correct? My only concern is where NVC is going to send IV fee bill, as that is the only thing that we can not have already completed beforehand. If it is sent to her country, then that would definitely slow things down. And who sends the fee? The petitioner or the beneficiary? The the foreign consulate receive the fee or NVC for $355? I hope I'm not confusing things too much.

Chemarc,

The DS-3032 is for your spouse to assign an agent. The address is depending on whether she chooses you, someone elese, or herself to receive corespondence from NVC. An agent is someone that will correspond with NVC about the beneficiary.

NVC will send the IV bill to the agent. The agent will need to then pay the bill. For this reason, NVC highly encourages that agent be residing in the US.

As the previous poster mentioned, you can make yourself the agent, then everything will be sent to your address (including the bills).

NVC gets the $355 (plus the $45 security fee - so that particular bill is $ 400)

Immigrant visa application processing fee (per person), Form DS-230 : $355.00

Immigrant visa security surcharge, for all IV and DV applicants: $45.00

Affidavit of Support Review (only when AOS is reviewed domestically), Form I-864 : $70.00
