Use the name that you want on the green-card.

If you file using maiden name, then decide to get name changed later it will require filing I-90 and paying a $370 fee.

I-485 has a line that asks for name on I-94, you put maiden name there. Same with I-765, and G-325A, they have lines for "Other names used"

In our AOS interview, my wife was asked if what name she wanted on the green card. I don't really think there's one right answer to this. The reason I always say "current legal name" or sometimes additionally say "if your name legally changed at marriage..." is to get peoples' attention. Some assume that because a marriage occured, a name change did also. This is far from universally true and is just as far from customary in some cultures. Sometimes a woman's name change at marriage in the US is as simple as checking a box on a marriage license or certificate. Even then, there are ID's to change and agencies to notify.

I AM glad our journey was simplified by the fact that due to my wife's culture and my attitude, she kept the name she's always used. She knows some people will call her Mrs. Pushbrk and doesn't mind a bit. Different strokes....
