I didn't know that this could happen. Guess, the applicants have to verify again the payment even a confirmation message was received.

Thanks for sharing this, it will prevent future incidents like this.

What is document verification, another way to fleece us for money

I think it is another way to certify that only those legitimate beneficiaries get the approval requested. Document verification would help ferret out fraudulent papers.

Or, I guess you could be pessimistic and conclude it is another way to be fleeced of money.

I'm still very much disturbed and angry over the implementation of the document verification on top of a visa fee that should cover document verification. Moreover, as I previously stated, how in the hell is a non-government agency (DELBROS) supposed to verify the beneficiary's NSO documents. As far as I can tell, there is no waiver even giving them the right to inquire on the behalf of the beneficiary. Last time I checked, Delbros was and still is a delivery service. Hello! Moving on, the wording from the USE website leaves too much room for interpretation and ambiguity, which is disturbing. For example, "Applicants whose visa eligibility is dependent upon their marital status (i.e. K-1, K-3, CR-1, IR-1, F-1 and F2-B categories) will normally need to have their documents verified through the National Statistics Office (NSO) before the U.S. Embassy in Manila can issue the visa. Those with a delayed birth or death certificate or only local civil registrar copies of such documents may need to have their documents verified. " Does that mean that sometimes they do and sometimes they do not, sometimes they will and sometimes they will not, and how is this all decided. They really need to be more definitive so good folks do not waste their money blindly having a “delivery service” verify documents (whatever). Does this mean no more AR in order to follow-up on questionable documents (as one of our members has implied)? Hmmm! They are so worried about fake documentation, but in my eyes this whole document verification seems fake (just a scheme for someone to get rich).

I don't like it... and that’s my two cents…

It's the US embasssy's way of verifying that the NSO documents you sent are authentic...

Isn't falling in line for like 4 hours and getting the NSO documentation printed on security paper enough??? :crying:

Anyways, i planning to have my documents verified on the 18th of Feb...a full 3 weeks ahead of my interview sked...i'll certainly be following edp333's advice after what happened to them...

There are rumors that the documents used in NSO have already been counterfeited. So, as everything else in the Philippines, US Embassy has to make sure that any NSO document is the real deal and not a counterfeit.

Thats a good point, but overall Philippines is one of the easiest places for the K1 or Spouse visas to get even with all these minor obstacles..Ever read all other problems that interviewees go through to get a visa? I'm just glad even with all these fees.. were only talking about Peso and not $. If we dont supply these kind of fees to support Philippines, where else is the government gonna steal money from? Ill take the P650 any day. Thats a whopping $16 meal, just enough for a cheap meal for two at TGIF.

I love how easy the entire process for Philippine K1/K3 visa is ... and thats my 2 cents..

phillipine is also one of the highest in fraud for documents also almost every street corner you can get something done, there is also alot more visas coming out of the philippines. when you have 40 % of the population wanting to get out of there you can see where they are needing to verify doc. i dont like the lattitude there web site gives either all need it or none they have 6 weeks or longer to verify and cr/ir visa all the doc are verified by nvc so why do it again in the phils i agrees there is some scam going on and one other post from roserick nvc didnt know anything about doc. ver, just my 10 cents worth

It is my interpretation that DELBROS just receives the information through text that the doc fee was paid and forwards this information to the Embassy.

The DELBROS text directions and process is in need of improvements also. Many VJers have difficulty sending in the text. My wife had to omit her middle name to get a confirmation.

Does anyone have the contact information for Ed Delgado?

I agree that the USEM Website gives a very ambiguous description. It also states a two week delay for not paying the doc fee prior to the interview and the consulate section is telling people a four to six week delay.

As for a scheme, I have noticed many VJers, including my wife, were asked to pay the document verification fee a second time at window 37. This may be acceptable to Philippine customs, but the USEM is a US Federal agency. I am sure this practice is not permissable within the Ethics testing required by all Federal employees.

I have called the US Embassy and the Department of State, sent an email to the Department of State, and sent a letter to the USEM consulate with four areas that need to be corrected. I won't hold my breath, but at least they were made aware of the issues.

PS. It was not my intention to make this a P and R thread.

There are three ways to contact DELBROS to confirm document fee payment verification: Jazzie called them up and they confirmed with us. They have three methods. The first is to email at busdev@delbros.com. The second is to call them at: 0917-339-2761. Lastly you could txt them at (fastest actually) 0917-6221949.

Thanks to davejaz42107 for posting this information.
