always hated it, always probably will. i would much rather get gifts any other day than today. why not do it because you love me and you felt like it...not because society forces you! ugh!!!

All we did was exchange cards...but we do that anyways, no matter what the time of year...it's so nice to get something by snail mail every once in a while...

But on another note...I teach high school...

You should have seen some of the stuff that I saw today...balloons larger than the kids carrying them (not to mention the stuffed animals), more chocolate and candy than I see at Halloween, and almost everyone wearing red....ABSOLUTELY RIDICULOUS!!! And you know who bought most of these things? The parents....

And this is after our principal made a call to the parents telling them not to send or allow their children to bring these items in the first place...Our front office looked like a florist warehouse with all the stuff confiscated today!!!

yeah, I think all the advertising and stuff sucks... but I do like the idea of Valentine's day....

I like doing stuff that doesn't cost anything or least not very much..

to me it is just a day where we can do something extra special for our SO to show them that we love them....

Yeh I don't really like Valentine's Day, kind of making me sick today. I guess it could be cool if there's lots of special shows or something going on, things to do on the day, but since they're all ultra-love-oriented that's not really...no xD

But since greeneyedgirl is a teacher that does remind me that I LOVED Valentine's Day when I was a kid in elementary school :o omg. Those boxes of valentine thingies you get everyone, and you have to be very scrupulous and political about it at home - 'I can't give Jessica the one with Tigger because it's kind of suggestive and she'll think I'm gay even though I'm only seven years old! But I can't give Kevin the one with Tigger because then he'll think I have a crush on him! AHH" And you pass out all the little cards in the little envelopes, with the little candies...come on that was cool xD But in elementary school ANY excuse to 1. not do work and 2. get sugar was cool. And we did seem to think up a lot of excuses.

I will say I don't really understand cards :\ I totally understand them if you're long distance, we're all still apart, yeh that's really cool, getting something physical via snailmail. But if you're married and live with that person...and you hand them a card...with like a preprinted bad poem....what.

hate Valentine's day as much as I do? I'm sorry but I see NOTHING romantic about this holiday. If you have to have a million commericals and reminders on the TV, internet, store to remind you to do something sweet for your S.O. how is that special?

I'd much rather recieve flowers any other day of the year than to receive some red roses on Valentine's Day. I almost feel as if it's an obligation or something. Any other cupid haters?

Just like DL Hughley says,"Why should I have to pay $60.00 for some (you know what) I got for free yesterday ?"

March 27,2009-Manuel returned to the consulate for another interrogation(because they forgot about December's interview),and they were really rude !
April 3,2009-US Counsalate asks for more court documents that no longer exist !
June 1,2009-Manuel and I go back to the US consalate AGAIN to give them a letter from the court in Colon along with documents I already gave them last year.I was surprised to see they had two thick files for his case !

It was kinda cute today, my boss' husband walks into the store at lunchtime with a bouquet of white and yellow daisies, which is her favourite, you should have seen her face light up! :)

Yeh yeh I know. It just seems like tons of people on the boards gave and received cards this year, is all, rather than like...other things. Though really I get stressed out whenever I spend lots of money. If my SO actually bought me stuff for alllll these holidays and I'm still trying to recover from Christmas and New Year's and possibly our anniversary (January 6) and geez our birthdays are both in November :bonk: Just yeh it's too much.

I would buy my SO like...the biggest steak I could find. But I don't want him to die :(

I don't hate it too much, but then I'm never struck by the amount of advertising - don't watch TV, and don't venture into the shopping centre all that often. Didn't even see anyone wearing red! I ended up watching a movie and eating pizza with a friend; it was pretty chill.

I gave Mags her gifts on the 13th. Good thing, since my back went completely out that night and I've been hobbling around with a cane ever since. Plus, Jordan is sick. So Mags isn't really feeling the VD happiness. lol Sick kid, bed-ridden husband, and a busy night at work made for a very tired Mags yesterday.

Lady, people aren't chocolates. Do you know what they are mostly? Bastards. ####### coated bastards with ####### filling. But I don't find them half as annoying as I find naive bobble-headed optimists who walk around vomiting sunshine.
