(CNN) — Hillary Clinton has officially won the New Mexico Democratic caucuses, more than a week after the state's February 5 Election Day.

After a nine-day vote count, the state party chairman announced the result Thursday.

Clinton now has one more delegate to add to her total — she will receive 14 of the state's pledged delegates, and Obama 12.

The New York senator and her Democratic rival, Illinois Sen. Barack Obama, were separated by just 1,709 votes in the final tally — 73,105 for Clinton, 71,396 for Obama.

The count had been delayed by a large number of provisional ballots.

14 vs. 12 delegates in NM. That means her overwhelming support among Hispanics is crumbling, doesn't it? :P

In your enthusiasm, you credited one too many for Clinton: it's 49% vs. 48% and 13 vs. 12 delegates, respectively. A very weak showing in NM for the candidate that claimed to have the Hispanic and the female vote locked up - there's 56% female vs. 44% male primary voters in NM. ;)

Blasphemer! Thou shalt not speak ill of the messiah! Satan's Imp shall bring forth happiness and prosperity (to those she doesn't kill, fire or ignore).

Lady, people aren't chocolates. Do you know what they are mostly? Bastards. ####### coated bastards with ####### filling. But I don't find them half as annoying as I find naive bobble-headed optimists who walk around vomiting sunshine.

We're not all hispanic here. Albuquerque, the major metro area, is about 50% or so.

No, you're not all Hispanics there but there's a higher portion of Hispanics in NM than most - if not any - states.

I wish people would stop using New Mexico as an example of what "Hispanic" voters will do. As New Mexicans always say, "I'm not Hispanic, I'm *Spanish*." Most of the "Hispanics" in New Mexico have had family here for 300 years or so, since it was part of Spain. That's totally different from most places, where the "Hispanic" population are first-, second-, and third-generation Americans.

Apparently the reason it took so long to count was that a HUGE number of non-Democrats tried to vote, including Republicans, Greens, and at least one registered member of the Bull Moose Party.

So splitting NM is a victory? She has come a long way from being "inevitable".

It's embarrasing how our state was so late with the count. Not like there is that many folks here. And already a lot of talk of voter fraud. Just rediculous how this state handled it. When I voted at my precinct - I had to leave without voting cus I went during my lunch break. Went back at 3:00 and didnt get out until almost 6:00.

10Yr GC arrived 07/02/09 - Naturalization is next

The drama begins - again!

And now the drama ends - they took the Green card . . .
