I am probably totally overly worried but I actually fear that we wont have enough evidence at our interview.

Now my question is what happens if you fail the interview due to a lack of evidence???

Would that be an RFE or a denied with a deportation?

I could not bare to be seperated from my husband ever again.

Well...tell us what evidence you do have. Maybe you don't have anything to worry about.

Well I have not been able to get a SSN#,the only thing we have been able to do so far is the health insurance and we have alot of wedding pics(with my parents and his parents)

We also went to the bank today and we should be able to put me on his bank account.

So thats the only three things we can do so far.

Add your name on some of your utility bills as well. During our interview, the adjucator told us that joint accounts like our utility bills is enough to prove that we both live in the same roof.

Thats all I had at my interview yesterday and I was fine.

I don't have an SSN, I don't have any joint bills/bank accounts with my husband yet. All we had was health insurance and some pictures.

But I guess the more you can get is helpful.

I am just saying that the guy was understanding because we haven't been married that long and I am not working yet.

Yes well I hope my interviewer is cool like that too.

Does anybody know if you can be added to the utility bills without SSN#???

I work for a natural gas utility and you don't need a SSN to be added onto your spouse's bill but they will want some type of number, like your passport number or your "A" number.

When Andre & I filed for AOS from our K-1, he was not on a single thing....he had no social security card until we got the green card. They see it all the time.

You need to have your official certified marriage certificate.

Pictures are good.

We had the marriage certificate.

We had lots of pictures with lots of different people in lots of different places.

We had some plane tickets and receipts from a trip to Chicago we took.

That was pretty much it. All you have to do now is show proof you followed through and got married.

When you lift conditions is when you need all the joint property and accounts proof.

Life's just a crazy ride on a run away train

You can't go back for what you've missed

So make it count, hold on tight find a way to make it right

You only get one trip

So make it good, make it last 'cause it all flies by so fast

You only get one trip

Yes, I added my husband onto Comed. All they asked was for his name, I could've said it was Micky Mouse. They did nothing to verify it. My name was still on the account - but now it was addressed to both of us. I know this varies from place to place, I would try calling a few times if you don't like the answer you are getting. We needed this so he could be added on my accounts (they insisted they need proof of address and that a lease with his name on it was NOT good enough). We also used it at the DMV. If they ask for SSN, just say that it hasn't come in the mail yet, but once you get it, you will call back with it. We did this at our bank and it was no problem.

According to my lawyer, if they were not happy with the interview you would get a letter within 30 days called an Intent to Deny. With that they would request further evidence. If you provide that then all is good, if not you can then file a hardship waiver. It won't be an instant deportation.

At our interview the IO never even looked at anything we took apart from IDs... so you could be worrying for nothing anyways!

So basicly if you dont have enough evidence the first time you would get an RFE if I understand that correctly?

Well you guys have made me feel much better,I also think that alot of people before me where not able to get an SSN# and where basicly in the same boat as me.

The only reason they would deny it would be if they really doubted your bona fide marriage. In that case you are more likely to be asked to come back for a second interview (it happened to two of the July filers) and you can expect the separated interview.

But before stressing out you get ready for it. You already have a few good things. Here are others you can add:

If you rent a place you can ask to be added on the lease.

Bring letters you received from family and friends, especially if the envelop is addressed to both of you with your current address.

If you are really worried you can ask a friend or a family member, or just someone who knows you to write a letter that confirms that you are married, that they know you and that you are a bone fide couple.

Affidavits sworn to or affirmed by third parties havingpersonal knowledge of the bona fides of the maritalrelationship (Each affidavit must contain the full nameand address, date and place of birth of the person makingthe affidavit, his or her relationship to the petitioner ofbeneficiary, if any, and complete information and detailsexplaining how the person acquired his or herknowledge of your marriage)

We sent one with our AOS application since I came on a B2 and needed to provide more proof.

Here is an old thread with some affidavit examples: http://www.visajourney.com/forums/lofivers...php/t83684.html

I hope this help. And don't stress. It's important to be prepared, and yes it is better if you have some documents, but in the end you never know what the IO will ask you. SOmetimes they need less than others. Good luck. You have a few months to get ready.

Oh and I just thought of something. Did you filed your taxes together? because that's a great document to bring with you.

We file ours at H&R Blocks so we get some papers back from them with both our names on it.

@Cecy first of all I really appriciate your great help. We dont know if we can put me on the taxes yet,for him to put me down as a depandant we would need an SSN#. However he could file for a W something form, but we dont know yet for sure if we can do that.

We own a house so sadly I cant be put on the morgage until I have a SSN#.

Well I orderd a magazine that comes to our house every month,my name and addrss is printed on it.

And I also have a whole stack of wedding cards we got from people,I did however trash the evnvelopes.

What do you guys think of that for evidence?????

I also never received any SSN (when we applied for it, it was too late). So, you're definately not alone here :)

I don't know anything about AOS (still in the phase "not married yet, but visa is expired"), but I know that MORE is always better than LESS! So bring everything possible, even if they won't need it!

Good luck to you!!!
