I get way too much of my news from the TV, I'll admit that, but at least I switch around from channel to channel pretty good to get the most objective sense, and I read the local paper and the NY Times a couple times a week and a few online articles too. Shamefully lately a lot more of my online reading has been those distracting little 'what are the ten bestest cities in America?? :o" articles Yahoo posts :D

I'm more for Hillary than Barack at the moment but in his defense I do have to say, people not knowing what he's accomplished doesn't mean he doesn't have any. I'm "busy" like everybody else in the world and haven't gotten my lazy butt to go research the guy yet because I know in another couple months the media will do a lot of that work for me; he's about to get bombshelled and criticized just like everyone else, pretty soon. Actually one of my professors, don't think he was lying but it is just hearsay, said today that when Obama first started running the number one complaint about him was that he was way too detailed in his plan of action and people thought he was boring; from then on he's switched his strategy to almost pure pathos/emotion oration and look at the results!

I think there IS a hell of a lot to be said for being a good speaker. It doesn't at all make him the best 'qualified', but if he can rouse people up into actually going out and being proactive that's really really good - JFK, MLK, Churchill...Hitler...all the same qualities, all accomplished tons and tons (well okay JFK kind of got shot before he got a lot done, but still there was that pretty inspired sense).

Summer 2001 - met my Scottish boy

December 18th, 2007 - proposal in Madrid's Botanical Gardens with a duck standing behind him going 'food?'

January 18th, 2008 - I-129F sent to VSC

January 31st, 2008 - received NOA1, issued Jan. 24 :)

February 24th, 2008 - NOA2; omgwtfbbqlolz

February 29th, 2008 - NVC letter sent

The problem with the original posted video is that a 'studio audience' is questioned on their political views and this is put on Fox News, presented as news! It's absurd and even more absurd that people like Kaydee take it as informative. That isn't news and it doesn't even come close to the type of polling that goes on with voters. Those audience members weren't randomly chosen, the questions asked and they way the were asked...it's nonsensical. And what's sad is that gullible 'news junkies' like Mr. Kaydee, think he's being wise by watching it everyday.

Who says it was presented as "news"...It was on a news magazine show, Hannity and Colms and was nothing more than a metting of democrats asked their comments by a contracted source, Frank Luntz, not an employee of FOX news but a professional pollster, who by the way is a Democrat.

The problem with you is that you don't know what real news is unless it comes from a lefty loony website.

What is it then, sparky? Is the video and the questioning of that audience commentary? Pray tell me, since you're a 'news junkie' guru, just what it is that you wanted everyone to look at?

Just admit it Steve, his voice turns you on  After all a win is most important. He is a empty suit and you know it.

They've got tons of people on administration - I still just wonder how much the president actually MATTERS. Maybe it's all just theatre.

Do you think Hillary would ever VP herself to Obama? That could be pretty cool but I don't think she'd ever do it, she wants to go all the way and she's getting older...but I guess Romney might try to VP McCain now that he's officially endorsing him oh nos competition.

What's wrong with CNN? :( Like...on a fair curved basis, obviously I guess there's something 'wrong' with all of the news outlets. But CNN's my favorite out of all the big main broadcasts (except right now they suck because they ONLY do campaign coverage now and not news anymore ever); Fox makes me about cry and msnbc is just...really random and it seems like they forget they're on the air sometimes and Headline does lots of stories about dog shows and fashion and then that terrible Nancy Grace woman so...CNN yays.

Does anybody know the demographics of what sort of people watch which channels the most? I'd be interested to know. Everybody knows that really conservative people watch Fox, but you never really hear any stereotypes about the other channels.

I feel like watching fox news and CNN for balanced news would make a person politically cross-eyed. I have to say, CNN's handling of the Reagan Library Debate was the worst I've seen throughout this process. Anderson Cooper cutting off Ron Paul mid-sentence was totally unprofessional and showed total disregard for moderator neutrality.

I don't know about the television station, but CNN.com is very obviously left-biased. The poll responses usually gives it away.

I'm not sure about MSNBC, but Fox News is the anti-CNN.

I'm not commenting on this specific conversation, but in general, it's not a good idea to get all your news from TV. They tend to give you news lite that you should complement with the written word or even radio, which tends to go more in-depth.

I'm not commenting on this specific conversation either, but I agree wholeheartedly with you, Alex. I teach Mass Media/Advertising and the last 5 years have jaded my view of "news" media....

Well...that's pretty much what I do, is watch mostly CNN and Fox, then secondarily Headline and MSNBC, so yeh I'm probably pretty screwed up :D. MSNBC I've heard people don't like but that's pretty superficial comment...I used to love MSNBC's website just because they pulled articles from absolutely everywhere, but maybe they didn't do that in such an encompassing objective way. Used to read BBC World every day too but I stopped doing that, honestly only because my fiance wouldn't shut up about how good BBC was so to spite him I stopped liking it :D

We've forgotten Daily Show and Colbert though of course, MAIN source of all of life's philosophy :o

It's so nice to come home after a nice date, yet with the onset of a rough migraine, fighting off the feeling to throw up, opening up VJ and finding some bile from you again. What brings you back to VJ, Gary? What were you doing before you came back? Something to think about.

You should loosen up a little, Alex. I'm just giving you some #######. Sorry about the headache.
