NO!....do not sign or date the DS-156k anywhere on the form until you're at the embassy & the CO tells you to do so.

Thank you very much for the help :) I appreciate it.

Hmmmm... I remember signing my DS-156K before I even went to USEM. I just put the date of my interview appointment on it. Oh well... I'm sure you'll get replies on what's best to do.

really? you didn't have any problems signing it before the embassy told you to? the form says not to sign until you're instructed to sign.

this is from sheriffs guide:

DS-156K Nonimmigrant Finace(e) Visa Application:

There are no FAQs, but the bottom portion of this form is reserved for the Consular Officer (CO). DO NOT WRITE IN THAT SECTION UNTIL INSTRUCTED TO DO SO. NOTE: The pre-screeners at the U.S. Embassy (USE) will instruct the beneficiary to sign right before they meet with the CO for the visa interview. And that's OK. So don't worry.
