Happy Anniversary and Happy Valentine's Day! (F) Is there a link to your "denied entry" story? It sounds interesting. My heart went out to you when I saw that. I would have given you free wine too. Kudos to the airline attendant. (F)

Thanks everyone for the well wishes :) Hope y'all have a great V Day!

I may have posted about the denied entry, but not sure how to link to it ... so here it is in a nutshell:

We had began the K-1 process in October 2006. He had been here visiting, helping me get set up in our new house (because in my infinite wisdom, I decided to add moving from GA to NH right before beginning the immigration process!). He was living off his savings and had been on a leave of absence from his job, went back to Canada and resumed working for a month or so. I went to visit him and we were going to fly back together to spend the Xmas holidays. We were so new to this stuff (and hadn't found VJ yet!). Didn't know to bring tons of proof of ties to Canada. The border guard at the Vancouver airport interviewed him for quite a while and ultimately denied him entry due to not having ties to Canada. He also said that, because we had begun the K-1 process, he was not allowed to visit during it (which is erroneous but up to each border guard's opinion). We were not expecting any trouble entering the country and it just hit us, especially since we didn't know how long the process was going to take and, from the guard telling us he couldn't visit during it, we didn't know when we would see each other again. So I was feeling pretty panicked and tearful as I flew home alone. Of course, I got smashed on the way, because I wasn't eating and all I had in my stomach was lotsa wine!!! It did end up working out because, after that experience, we began checking into things and he was able to visit for a week or two at Xmas.

Two years ago today my daughter (Princess Anna) and I were landing in Halifax Int'l airport...her first plane ride ever. We had just gotten our NOA2 and were floating on cloud nine. That was one of the best Valentine presents ever...other than, well, you know...getting the visa, him flying home, the wedding, and all that other fabu stuff. ;)

Happy Anniversary Chik! Wishing you and your honey many many more of 'em.! (F)
