It does, but it takes longer. Better to be on top of them.

The wife received the package in the mail, a week before we were supposed to have our interview.

Thank you both for the advice. I guess I'll have to be patience. I was in VSC but I was transferred to Texas, because there were too many petitions for Vermont to handle. Unfortunately, people who was transferred to Texas and recieved their NOA2 more than a month ago still haven't been able to get their nvc number... We still don't know why is taking so long for us....but as soon as I get it ill let you know if I need more help. Thank you guys! Is good to know there's someone willing to help me through this hard process :D

Hey all! Just thought I'd update and say we got hubby's green card this morning. Another success through Guayaquil! smile.png Thankfully, we made it through unscathed. Hubby is fully registered in college for the fall, and has his first job interview on Monday afternoon. Very happy to finally be here. good.gif Yay! Glad we could add our story to the list of happy endings instead of some of the nightmares Guayaquil has produced.

USC who lived in Manabí, Ecuador with hubby from 2009 - 2013. Hubby became a naturalized American citizen in August 2016. Currently living together in northern Virginia.

Actually, the consulate website won't show that. It will show after they receive it after a while. It's better to be on top of them. Call the NVC around 2 weeks after you received your noa2 and see if they have sent it to Guayaquil and they will give you your GYQ number. And then email the consulate, like I told you on the other thread. They respond fairly quickly.

Hey! Just wanted to let you guys know I got my case number today! I called the doctor to schedule the medical appointment but the secretary told me I need a letter with the case number... Would it be enough to print the email that I'll send to the embassy as you suggested, saying I have my case number and if I can download the package from their website? Or I need to schedule the appointment first before getting the medical?

Did you email the consulate? You need to schedule the interview before you can schedule the medical. Call the NVC tomorrow and ask if it was forwarded to Guayaquil, if yes, email the consulate and ask if they received the package. If yes, they will then tell you to download packet 4 and follow those instructions. The confirmation email for the scheduled interview will be what the doctor needs.

Reading this thread has given me a lot of anxiety...since im in a same sex relationship. Should I hire a lawyer ?

I doubt the fact that you're in a same sex relationship would at all hinder your case more than any other heterosexual relationship. And, really, all a lawyer does is charge you a lot of money to file paperwork you can do yourself, as long as you have no abnormalities (such as previous overstays, or a criminal past). Just read up on everything, prepare a LOT, make sure you have lots of evidence, and make sure the USC gets to the interview. You'll be fine.

I got approved! The consul only asked if we were both single, if I had kids or if I've been convicted of any crimes. It was literally 3 minute interview thank god! I did had to wait more than two hours, I was the last person called for interview that day. I'll write a complete review in the consulate page with more details. Hopefully I'll have my visa in hand in 8 days, at least that's what the consul said... I hope it's true.

Most of people got approved and very fast, there were three ladies that were told to stay until the end but two of them had problems because they were us residents that stayed more than one year outside the US. The other one was applying for an spouse visa, I could hear her answers and she was giving very weird responses, she was called more than 3 times to talk to different people...

But besides that they approved everybody that was there

I think it helps a lot to approach the counter feeling very confident and giving clear and simple answers... There were people that were talking about things the consul didn't asked, like saying more than what they were asked... And those interviews took looooots of time followed with more questions...

You truly dodged a bullet, si man; that was a very un-Guayaquil-like interview. Many congratulations!
