Sorry if this question is repetitive and has been answered before, but I searched the forum and haven't found anything...

I think I'm all set to mail my forms tomorrow! I have one last question... I have copies of my fiance's Albanian passport, permit of stay for Italy and Albanian birth certificate. I know these aren't required, but would it be wise to include these in my packet with an explanation of his citizenship v. his residency? I want to avoid any RFE's now if I can!

I don't have these items translated yet, so if I did include them now could they go without it or should I get them translated first?

Thanks, everyone!

All you would need to do is send proof of having met within the last 2 years when initially submitting the I-129F, the rest comes later (All foreign language documents must be translated). The passport I would send because it would show this proof (if he has visited you here) (you could also send your passport copy if you have visited him). The rest you could send copies if you wanted and detail them as for your reason in including them (couldn’t hurt).

hi! :) What I did is had him fax me a copy of the first page of his Albanian passport, his Italian visa and his Permesso di Soggiorno, but I didn't have them translated -- I just labeled the Permesso "Permesso di Soggiorno, permission to reside in Italy" or something like that. Don't worry about translating that because I don't think they need to know the exact text of it, if you can provide an informal translation of a bit of it just to show he's in Italy legally. :)
