 Hello everyone! I can't believe I haven't discovered this forum until now... I am really quite overwhelmed by all of the information here. Basically I just wanted to say 'hi'! and ask a question.

The CSC received our K1 petition in late August, and were fortunate enough over the last six weeks or so to get help from my local congressman (I've seen posts lately talking about how useless people have found congressmen to be, but I guess I got lucky!) And with his help, the CSC agreed to expedite my fiance's visa (due to the situation in his country, Kosovo) and the petition was approved and mailed off to the NVC today!!! We are ecstatic... but we know we can't let our guard down now- we still have work to do!

Basically, as we get ready for the weeks to come and prepare for everything, I would like to ask about the interview. Does it help if I attend the interview with him? Or will I just get in the way? I want to make sure everything goes well and I can't help but think that it would be easier to give evidence of our relationship if we were there together... right? Am I being impractical? We've been apart for so long and I want to do anything I can to make sure it all goes well.

I am so anxious to be with him again... I miss him so much. I must say though... it makes me feel a bit better now that I've found this forum. I guess I thought I was all alone in this pain of waiting and waiting. Thanks to everyone for being here...

Hi there! We are coming up to our interview time too. Ive read different things about whether your other half can attend the interview, but generally it seems to be allowed, and quite useful. Most moderators won't mind either way though, as long as you have good evidence of your relationship, the affidavit of support etc. Best to check for your specific embassy though. Try the regional forums (at the bottom of the forum list page) to find a discussion group closest to you, and post a message in there. Also, stick the Armenian flag on your profile if you can, then you should get noticed by your fellow country-people!

I'm glad you found visajourney, it is the best resource on the web for US family visas. Good luck with the rest of your journey!

Thanks so much... I've just figured out the "search forum" option and am reading a lot of useful stuff about interviews. I think I will attend it with him... it can't hurt us, it can only make it better I think.

Unfortunately I can't stick the flag of Mexhit's country on my profile... he's from Kosovo and there is no flag. Heck, it isn't even a country yet-- the government is declaring independence on Sunday!! But I suppose I could post an Albanian flag, as that's the place he's closest to... Thanks for your help!

hi there, my fiance is also albanian, although mine is actually from albania (tirana), not kosova...you can message me if you have any questions...my fiance's interview will be in the tirana consulate, though, where as you fiance's will be at the skopje one in macedonia...i still might be able to help you with some things though...i wouldnt worry too much, generally the interviews in macedonia are not too strenuous, especially when compared to the ones in tirana  i will be attending the interview with my fiance, because i feel the same way that you do...it cant hurt can it? but there are tons of people on this website who go at it alone and do just fine...it really depends on your situation....LKDougherty is a visajourney member who's husband is from kosova and received his visa a few months ago...you might want to speak to her as well

good luck!

Thanks so much... I discovered LKDougherty yesterday and sent her a message. I can't tell you how wonderful it is to know that I'm not the only American girl to fall for a handsome Albanian boy :P
