The biometrics fee for EAD is included in its cost. So $180.

I would check that. My understanding is that the biometrics cost $70 but you only pay it once, so if u file AOS at the same time you pay $325 AOS + $70 biometrics and then just $180 for EAD.

If you are only filing for EAD it is my understanding that you would pay the $180 plus the $70 for biometrics. I wasnt even aware that you could file for an EAD as a K-3 holder, i thought it had to be attached to an AOS application but I could be wrong.

As always this is just my understanding so double check it!!

I have been waiting for the IRS to process our 2005 income tax so that we can file the AOS but it seems they are delaying me from working so I want to file the EAD right away and not wait for the EAD since I can do that with my category which is K-3. I came in the states with my K-3 visa and to my understanding I can file for an EAD with the AOS at the same time with a K-3 visa. I need to know if the fee for EAD alone is just 180 and no additional 70 dollars for biometries. Have someone here done that before? I mean file just the EAD without the AOS package and just sent the 180 fee? pls do let me know

You must pay $180 plus the $70. When you are ready to file your AOS you will be required to pay the $325 plus $70. Michael and I struggled with this decision as well and finally decided to just file both forms together.. not that $70 will break the bank but just to end the stress . God luck with whichever decision you make.
