I bet the army is on stand by again!!!

Canadians Visiting the USA while undergoing the visa process, my free advice:

1) Always tell the TRUTH. never lie to the POE officer

2) Be confident in ur replies

3) keep ur response short and to the point, don't tell ur life story!!

4) look the POE officer in the eye when speaking to them. They are looking for people lieing and have been trained to find them!

5) Pack light! No job resumes with you

6) Bring ties to Canada (letter from employer when ur expected back at work, lease, etc etc)

7) Always be polite, being rude isn't going to get ya anywhere, and could make things worse!!

8) Have a plan in case u do get denied (be polite) It wont harm ur visa application if ur denied, that is if ur polite and didn't lie! Refer to #1

Snow in Canada!! :o

(only comment I could think of)

I looked at that pic and thought "What snow?" And then I thought.... I hope my family and friends stay safe. But seriously.... I remember getting crazy weather when I was growing up, and then it seemed to die down for quite a few years. Snow really is normal.

I love observing weather patterns.

The only fitting comment is this one:

The unusual has become the usual.

Mother Earth/Nature seems to be having fun mixing it up these days.

No time to catch one's breath and WHAM, another doozy.

Isn't it interesting though how there is always balance...one place has drought whilst another has floods.

hmmmm....

There is a finite amount of water.

As for me and this Arcticky Chicagoland, I have had just about enough cold to last me a century.

I have told my sweet, loving man that this is my very last cold Winter.

Vancouver Winters feel like (now) I was in the tropics by comparison; to think I used to complain about them. Ha!

Yep, yesterday was lovely - we got up to 70 in our back yard. The cherry trees down the street are in beautiful purple blooms - and today the temperature plummeted - it is 32 degrees outside with wind gusting to 35 mph so the wind chill is significantly colder. I've become spoiled in my going on 4 years here - I prefer the heat and humidity of summer to the cold winds of winter - even if it is only around freezing.

Hehehe, my Dad lives in Kingston, Ontario and he just sent me this poem . . . it is a Kingston author but he didn't give a name:

It's winter in Canada

And the gentle breezes blow

Seventy miles an hour

At twenty-five below.

Oh, how I love Canada

When the snow's up to your butt

You take a breath of winter

And your nose gets frozen shut.

Yes, the weather here is wonderful

So I guess I'll hang around

I could never leave Canada

'Cause I'm frozen to the ground!!

Well it was in the low 60's yesterday and today it's in the 20's with ice and lots and lots of snow. Of course that's not unusual for here this time of year. In fact if we didn't get something like that happening ever couple of weeks then it would be unusual.

Of course we're in our Spring period, another 2 months and then we'll be in our winter blizzard period and then right into summer. That's the general way it works around every year without fail...

I'm just a wanderer in the desert winds...
