hmmmm....I never posted an introduction...maybe now is the time...since I've been here almost TWO years... :P

My name is Frances, my hubster is from West Yorkshire, and he moved here at the end of June 2005 after 18 months of this immigration nonsense. We met and married on New Year's Eve, two years apart...so we'll always have a great reason to celebrate the New Year. We have a cat named Alix and live in Chicago, on the lakefront.

Hellooooo everyone!

Hello Frances!

I'm Karen and my husband is John and as you'll see in my sig he asked me to marry him in 2000... at the time we had NO IDEA of what a lengthy process immigration was or that it would take us 5 years to be married! But eventually I got my visa in Australia and came to Florida and we got married and lived happily ever after with two cats... and I just got my greencard so I'm looking forward to the happily ever after!

Ok, ok...I will bite.

I am Rose from New York, married Graham of Aberdeen Scotland in NY on Nov. 14th, 2005. He went back to the UK on Nov.16th. We filed our I-130 on Dec. 9th in Vermont and are waiting hopefully.

We met on line and were great friends for 3 years until we met in 2004.

After that, it was back & forth from NY to Aberdeen and from Aberdeen to New York as many times as our jobs and finances would permit. It has been almost 2 years of this distance-although it is all very trying sometimes, we are not worse for wear.

Initially, we planned on having him come here on a tourist visa and get married here, in March and adjust him then-until we heard of "dual intent" from a lawyer we consulted with. It was then that we heard about a CR1...

Within an hour of that meeting with the attorney, we were at town hall filing out an application for a license, and 4 days later, we got married in T shirts and jeans...(very romantic)...

We are having THE BIG wedding in Aberdeen on February 25th, full tartans and kilts-but more than anything- I am looking forward to seeing him again, more so than the actual wedding. It has been 3 1/2 LONG months. What would be the biggest wedding gift is to find our NOA2 via e-mail whilst I am visiting him. A girl can hope, right???

Sometimes it feels like the waiting will never end, but I am filled with hope that it will soon be over, and we will have our life together.

-Rose

Okies Rose it is

Just copy and paste it into its own thread on this introduction forum. If others see a new member posting they may just follow. There was a mass of them before the crash with the old site and we had to abandon ship. It just seems to be taking a bit to get this forum going again. Thanks muchly (F)

Hello VJ,

I am a new member. My name is Sherry. I met my love in Paris while vacationing two years ago. His name is Angelo and he is a European resident, and a Togolese citizen. We lived together in France for 6 months, but I returned to the US after not finding a job there. I am now working and have bought a house here in the US. We are preparing our K-1 visa and plan to have a civil ceremony, church wedding, and a traditional Togo ceremony (if I can get my parents to go to Africa). I have met most of his family. His mother is wonderful. I am brushing up on my French so that we can converse. He hasn't met my family because he needs a visa to come here.

I never planned to be in love with a person who lives 3500 miles away. It has been difficult, but worth every complaint.

Thanks to all those who keep this site going. Wish us good luck!

--Sherry

glad to meet the new people...welcome to vj...

But when we turn to the Hebrew literature, we do not find such jokes about the donkey. Rather the animal is known for its strength and its loyalty to its master (Genesis 49:14; Numbers 22:30).
