Doesn't sound like the namecheck is bypassed but that the approval is conditional and can and will be revoked.

Still a good news for those who have been waiting for months, if not years! I don't see any reason why one has to get scared of deportation if he/she has a 'clean' history!

I read this story on the Houston Chronicle website - http://www.chron.com/disp/story.mpl/front/5533508.html - and I am shocked at some of the comments.

They seem to think that this is going to give green cards to illegal immigrants. Others say that us immigrants can and should wait as long as it takes if they want to come to this country, and that the needs of US citizens are obviously greater than the needs of immigrants. I find it almost like they are using 'immigrants' as a dirty word. Wonder if they'd be the same if they were waiting for immigration in another country to clear their names. I'm shocked at the racism of these people!
