Today we received:

Current Status: Case received and pending.

On April 4, 2008, we received this CRI89 PETITION TO REMOVE CONDITIONS OF PERMANENT RESIDENT STATUS RECEIVED, and mailed you a notice describing how we will process your case. Please follow any instructions on this notice. We will notify you by mail when we make a decision or if we need something from you. If you move while this case is pending, call customer service. We process cases in the order we receive them. You can use our processing dates to estimate when yours will be done. This case is at our TEXAS SERVICE CENTER location. Follow the link below to check processing dates. You can also receive automatic e-mail updates as we process your case. Just follow the link below to register.

Are we back in Texas again now, playing the USCIS shuffle? This follows the one from before that said we'd been xferred. Anyone else seen this?

Heck if I know but I'm confused. That's the same first status we had when we filed on that date back in April. Then we got the email update that said it'd been transferred when the mass exodus from TSC happened. Now this again today, that clearly says Texas, and has us touched today (the 18th).

Peculiar, Tamarae,

Perhaps the rest of us can check and see if we have had anything similar happen. From what USCIS said, Texas isn't doing any cases any more. I wonder if maybe you are being transferred to a local office for an interview, although Mesquite is no where near Lubbock - maybe it goes through the Regional centre first? Another option is, since it is still the April receipt date recorded, that they worked on your case and someone 'went back' a page on the update file and left it at the wrong message after looking at your file and it still really is in Vermont. But definitely peculiar.

I notice that TSC has a processing date of 1/17/08 for I-751 on the website. I hadn't bothered to check before...was that always listed like that?

I don't recall if there was a processing date listed for I-751s immediately before but I can guarantee if there was it was not for 2008 - I recall checking when I applied back in February and seeing a processing date for for at least a year before my submission for Texas. Not sure what happened between then because I just checked my own status, not the Service Center dates. Now I wonder if in regard to Tamarae's post above whether they are transferring the cases from before the official announcement of the transfer out of Vermont, either back to Texas or on to California to help Vermont cope with their very obvious backlog. I am beginning to think USCIS is like an octopus and it isn't just the left hand not knowing what the right hand is doing, but it is the left hand, next left hand, left hand after that and the last left hand that don't know what any of the right hands are doing either!

Jan 17 - just about 6 weeks prior to my own receipt date . . . can it be possible . . . I might actually get an approval in less than a year? (Assuming things are being transferred back to Texas!) Oh, heck - I have no idea what is going on - and it is poor consoluation that USCIS doesn't either :huh: .

I'm also curious as to what VSC is doing. We applied in December 2007 and were transferred from TSC to VSC.
