And if they fire their employees, who will process our cases? Did you not see that they were transferring 80,000 cases a week to CSC right now? and that's just the ones they're transferring! Could you handle that kind of workload? These people are not terribly well paid and they are working overtime and weekends right now (several of us got touched this past weekend).

According to the USCIS website, applications for some types of visas have doubled in the past year. The last time I looked at a Federal Jobs website, they were trying to hire over 125 people for immigration accross the country. Even if they found people willing to work for what they were paying in those areas, they still had to train them.

Instead of complaining we need to be thankful they are trying to resolve the backlog and are willing to work overtime to process our files.

Just my two cents.

I am with honeyblonde on this one.

The fact that VSC is behind their workload is due to the TERRIBLE workload management exercised by high ranking officials. They failed to predict the rise in the number of applications submitted and consequently the adequate manpower to handle the work.

BTW. I would hate to see anyone loose their job! The economic conditions are hard enough already, for anyone to make a joke about it!!!

On the other hand - government jobs are the most cushie, steady income and good retirement positions one can find....... Once this guys are in, little do they care about poor performance!!!

Thank you everybody! It's been a long wait.

My status have never changed since the transfer to VSC, I've never get a touch. On Friday, the letter arrived saying that they approved my case, and on Sunday, I got the email saying that I got approved.... so I got both letter and email

The funny thing is in the letter it said to give them 60 days for the GC to arrive, but in the email, it said 30 days :unsure: I'm leaving the country in April so i hope I get the GC before then!

Good luck everyone!! there sure a light at the end of the turnel!

They would hire more competent people, especially now since many people have been laid off, there is a much better, more qualified pool to select from, that's who.

Yes I did see that, and it pissed me off even more. Why should the hard workers at CSC, who have done their jobs properly and in a timely manner, be burdened with the results of the incompetence of the VSC employees? It's absolutely unfair to them.

Could you handle that kind of workload?

A- Yes, I could.

B- I wouldn'tve allowed it to accumulate to this point in the first place.

Regardless of how much they're getting paid, the fact remains that they are still getting paid. When millions of hard workes across the US of A are standing in the unemployment lines. They're getting paid, with mine and your tax dollars, in addition to the ridiculous amount of fees they're collecting from each case. They have no excuse whatsoever. And believe me, this overtime and weekend work is a result of a crackdown by some supervisor who was embarrassed by the fact that they're at least 10 months behind on their cases in comparison to the CSC.

Again, this argument is invalidated simply by the fact that CSC also suffered from the surge of applications, yet they still managed to handle their cases in a timely manner.

Instead of complaining we need to be thankful they are trying to resolve the backlog and are willing to work overtime to process our files.

No, we shouldn't be thankful for their mediocrity and incompetence. If more people complained, vocally and in a more pronounced way, I assure you, this kind of delay will never happen again.
