Hi all...

Great to hear that it went well for him Bailey-or should I say Vicky, pls let me know :)

8 weeks you say, well that's wonderful to hear, I'm just going to fool myself into believing that :P I was told at the Copenhagen embassy that they had changed the procedure for the I-601 waiver, meaning that there was now a whole group of people that ONLY takes care of processing them, when usually in Copenhagen there was only 1 person - I don't know if that's such a major change but it does sound good that there's a bunch of people handling the I-601 waivers, perhaps that's why we see more cases "under review" at one time. :)

Have a great day all :luv:

Just going to quote myself :P And I meant that the I-601 waiver processing talk was for the London office, not the Copenhagen office...since Copenhagen doesn't have one :P

Timeline:

January 27 2006: submitted and approved I-130 in Copenhagen, Denmark

March 23 2006: Interview, submitted I-601 waiver

May 2 2006: London recieves waiver

August 21 2006: waiver approved woo hoo

October 3 2006: arrived in the US

Hi all.

Just got a short little update. He called his other sister and had her email me. He said things went well and that He did have to file the waiver . He said they were very positive about it and they told him is should be around 8 weeks. HA HA HA to the 8 weeks. I think we all know that's not going to happen. At least it's all done now and we just have to hunker down and wait to see what happens.

Thanks again for the well wishes,

Vicky

Vicky, I'm soooo glad things went well. It's almost easier to handle when you know what's coming and can prepare mentally for it. Eight weeks, huh? That's hilarious!!! I truly hope it turns out to be only eight weeks for you guys. We're starting into week nine on Monday. Maybe this is our week for "under review," huh? My curious mind is DYING to know what goes on with the processing of these waivers! Why the two London cases that went under review at the same time and only the one is now completed? What's that about? I know I could really make myself crazy over it, so I'll just stop right there. Here's hoping you make yourself speedily to "the list"!!

Have a great weekend, all.

Hi everyone.

Well it was late but I finally got to talk with him. Oh my he was so very tired so I tried not to keep him on too long. Well he said it was ok with him if i passed on his experience so I'll try my best to pass along how he explained it to me.

First off he said he went in about 10 am. He did say he saw the ZZ top guy outside. He said he kind of snickered when he saw him. He pulled his number and was called up in about 10 minutes to turn in his paperwork. He said they only took the affidavit of support and none of the supporting documents. No pay stubs or tax forms. They told him they were not needed. He was told to sit again and he said it took about 30 minutes for them to call him back up to the window. He said she looked over all the paperwork and just said that he was going to need a waiver. She did say it was good that he had already been approved for the travel visa waiver. She told him to go sit down again and wait for someone to go over the waiver procedure with him. He said this was the longest wait. Took about an hour then finally they called him back up to the window. There were two working together. One man and one woman. One was going through the paperwork and the other was asking him questions. He did say they were very nice and put him at ease. He said the woman ask him how we met at first and when we met in person for the first time. He told her we met online and she ask him what chat room because she was making her own personal list of the chat rooms. (she was making a funny). lol

They said they liked the way we had done our own waiver. (now people using lawyers for this ....don't get shook up but ) they said that the USCIS doesn't like when people use lawyers to write their letters and they much prefer it when people write their own. They didn't take all of our documentation. They took the Doctor letters and other attachments but did not want the articles I had printed off the internet. She told him they were not necessary. (kind of worried me a bit) Said it was very good that it had been almost 25 years since his crimes and that they thought he had a very good chance.

They did not keep his passport/visa. They said they did not keep these anymore if it was going to be any length of time before the K-1 visa was issued. They did not want to take the chance of it getting lost. They said if the K-1 visa was approved they would send a courier to pick it up and deliver it back to London and then send the new visa back the same way.

He said they made him feel very much at ease. Everyone he dealt with was very nice. (not rude like belfast) They told him he would get a post card from the sub office with our waiver info on it. They didn't know how long that would take. Said that the waiver usually takes about 8 weeks but probably longer. (we already knew this) lol

He also said that they were not very busy today. There were only about 10 people there and most of them were getting travel visa. Mentioned he did over hear one man had not filled out some of his paperwork correct so they told him when he sorted it out to come back another time. All in all he was there about 2 1/2 hours.

So sorry if this is messed up. I'm sooooooooooooo tired.

Thanks again everyone for all the well wishes. Everything seemed to be positive and we are just glad to get this over with. Now the waiting begins.........................scoot over fellow wavier filers........we are joining the troops.

Hi Bailey.... I mean Vicky!!

thanks for typing all that, you sounded so tired....I'm sure it's really appreciated by all the people on here. I'm glad your hubby didn't have to wait too long and that the guys were supportive in London. They are a nice bunch of people, I found.. However I wasn't too happy on waiting from 10.30 in the morning (when the original forms were handed in) until 4 pm in the afternoon to actually HAVE my interview!!! :(

they were the longest hours in my life, and you feel that you just can't relax incase they call your number or it comes up on the big tv screens!! it's really torturous!!

Still now that's all over you can sit back and just :reading: (relax!!!) lol yeah right eh? You'll just become an ever bigger I-601 tracker!!!! and all that :clock: will make you go a little :bonk: !!!

still your in good company here!

I echo Tiff's comments, 9 weeks this Tuesday for me, how have we done it Tiff??? that's a looooongg wait!! still looking back it doesn't seem so bad.... the best advice for everyone is to keep yourself busy and the time should go quick!

It's nice to see this thread back up and running, I feel partly responsible for the other one! still at least we have this feature eh?? and we're pretty lucky to be able to just click on a link and see the most up-to-date posting of the waivers!

ok guys great to here from you all on here, I'll leave it here. I always post early cos I'm 5-8 hours ahead of the USC's on here!! I'll try and come back on tomorrow

Vicky, that sounds about right. I'm so glad that part is over for you guys. Like Paul said, now you can get down to the waiting! I really don't know how we've done it so far, except I've been really busy at work and so has he! Although, his internet was down for about a week this last week and I realized how much of a difference that makes! I missed seeing him sooooo much! It's been way too long since we've been together -- eight months this month. When he finally gets here, it's going to be a BIG adjustment period!! But I'm definitely up for it, let me tell you! I hope it takes way less time for DHS to get your file and put you on the list. You'd think they would be able to work that a little faster. Anyway, officially welcome to the waiting, very happy to have another with us. I can't tell you how much easier this whole waiting thing is knowing you all are going through it too! So thanks.

Well, I'm off to clean out my closets in anticipation of having to make some space for a certain someone. :D

Hello again.

Yeah I think I'm ok with the waiting. (or so i think) I think I've had lots of practice so far. We usually end up only seeing each other every 6 months or so anyway. I went over in March to see him so hopefully that will keep us going over the summer. We look at it as giving us a little more time to get situated and save some more $$$ up before he comes. I've been buying his coffee and things and putting them up in the cabinet. If there is ever a coffee shortage this summer you guys know where to come. I can't stand it so I won't be needing it. I'm going to look for some more space to put his things too. Cleaning out closets and getting rid of a few things. Good luck with that cmltdg. You might even find a few things to have a yard sale. ;) Oh and I also have to figure out where and when we are getting married when he comes so that should keep me busy also. I want someting small and itimate but I want a few friends and family too. Where do you draw the line though. You ask one person and then worry about making someone else mad for not asking them. Might just elope and do it the easy way. At least I have some time to figure that one out. My other "BIG" project is going on a diet again. :o At least I have a few months to work on that too. I'm going to give weight watchers another try. I've done it before and had some luck with it. It seems to be easier for me to follow that other ones. Have a few people at work who are gonig to have a go at it with me. That will help some too I'm sure.

It sounds like they were a lot more busy when you were there Paul. I think he would have went crazy if he had to wait for 4 hours . jeez I would have had my fingers chewed to the bone by then. That seems like cruel and unusual punishment. He must have just hit them on a slow day. He said there were not very many there getting immigrant visa's . More getting travel visa's . He did say that the poor guy who's paperwork was messed up was going for an immigrant visa. Hope he didn't have to travel too far since he has to go back. He must have not know about VJ.

Oh I did want to ask one question. For some reason I was under the impression that they issued a new number when you filed for a waiver. (don't know where I got that idea) Is you original LDN number the one they use on the waiver list? I think I misread or confused myself and thought that they issued another number when they sent the post card. He's not wondering about the supporting documents that they would not take. It was mostly just the articles I had printed off the internet supporting some of the facts that I wrote in my letter. He wants to mail them back in to them but I'm not sure if that is a good idea or not. What do you guys think?

Well I need to get busy. Talk to you guys real soon and have a good weekend,

Vicky

Hi all, sounds like everyone is doing well

Great to hear about the interview Vicky, sounds like it went just fine :) Hmm, I wonder why they didn't take the articles you had printed out from the internet *supporting documents* I had lots of those too, and they took the whole thing at the interview. How would they even know what to take out, did they read the Hardshipletter right there?? I just don't get it

I'm sorry, I don't want to upset you....I guess your hardshipletter was too good that's why they wont need it  they know what they are doing :)

Welcome to the waiting room :P Even though some of us are leaving the waiting area soon, I hope that you guys get the Visas this May :)

well i meant to say that he "is" a little concerned about them not keeping the supporting documents. He thinks he might post them over this week sometime. I told him it was his call on that one. They did read through the waiver letters but I really doubt the reason they didn't need the documents was because it was sooooo good.

I'm not too worried about anything at the moment. Maybe I'm being nieve but I think we have a pretty good chance. Have to have that postive attitude.

See ya,

Good idea Vicky,

keep with that positive attitude!! that's what we all want in here! I must admit we did all seem to fall in to a "despair and negativity" frame of mind when poor Mary and Jpkeswim were BOTH denied in a matter of weeks!!

In my opinion I wouldn't worry too much in sending those extra docs through in the mail to be honest. I guess if they would have been needed they would have taken them. It's so easy to think "but they might be the docs that make the difference etc." and every little detail counts, but the whole thing really comes down to the hardship letters. We also included some print outs from the internet to support one less important argument, but I just guess if you really feel that your main argument is strong... then you should be ok.

Don't forget London had a really good pass rate, imagine if we were all submitting in Rome, there's is only 50% :(

Also Vicky your original case number is the one that will go on the board so keep an eye out for it!

I don't know about all you I-601 tracker junkies out there but I was a little dissappointed that nothing has been updated since May the 3rd!!! I hope next week the guys in London will get a move on and get some more cases under review, prefereably mine and Tiff's!!! :D

2 months today since our waiver was filed!! B) come on London, give us that golden APPROVED that we so desperately want!!! :P

Hi everybody :)

Hope everyone had a great weekend, it's getting hot here in Denmark...how about at your place??

I checked the tracking again, and nothing new :(

I'm going crazy here, I got 2 missed calls from the same number again, couldn't see the cellphone, because I'm not allowed to take it with me, and when I got off ... there it was again, that magic London phone number. I have a international calling card, but when I call someone picks it up but there's no sound what so ever... aahhhh I'm going crazy, wondering what it is about  Just waiting for them to call again :clock: I'd wish they call me so I can at least sleep well tonight... *sigh* :( Has any of you had anyone from the London office call you?? can you tell me the number, so I can compare ( this number is +442072786362 )

Oh well, nothing new from my side of town, how about you guys?? There are lots of approvals from the site I2U almost 1 every day for a week or two so far, seems like they are happier in the summertime and approve everyone, lol :P

Beetee, that must be maddening! Maybe you could email the DHS office and inquire that way. Maybe they will send you an email back with whatever they're trying to get ahold of you for. The email address I used is london.uscis@dhs.gov. Who knows? You may get a faster reply.

It's getting hotter here as well, although rain in the afternoon is pretty standard. This weekend I'm finally going to make a run to Home Depot and get me some flowers!!! It's planting time! Nothing else new, just waiting and waiting and waiting. I will admit it's making me a bit tied in knots and sort of sick the closer the time gets to being under review. Hoping tomorrow that the list will be updated, with good news for Paul and I!

Have a great day everyone!

Oh wow beetee, two more phone calls. I even got curious and tried google with the number. I'm sure you have already tried that. Nothing come up but all i could figure out was that is was definitely a London number. Hopefully they will send out a letter if they can't get hold of you. In the mean time .....glue that phone to your body somewhere. :D

I'm still watching the list too. I was thinking they might update it on Monday but a week from the last time it was updated is Wednesday. Maybe they will do it then. ????

Have fun picking out those flowers cmltdg, I love planting flowers but I'm not doing much this year. My fiance used to do landscaping so I'm waiting on him to get here. I have an acre so he should have a ball.

Have a good day,
