Hi guys,

My NOA1 on my K1 petition was January 4th, 2006 and I still didn't receive any word from USCIS. I finally sent an email to them regarding this. The following is the reply I got:-

"The petition is undergoing security as all petitions have to have performed. There is no time limit to this processing. Please inquire again in 60 days".

So, I have already waited around 120 days and now they are telling me that it is going to take another 60 days at the minimum.... AND THIS IS EVEN BEFORE MY CASE GETS FORWARDED TO INDIA!!!!!!

Also, the email says that all petitions go through security checks but I have seen people getting approved in much less time than mine.

Does anyone have any similar experiences?

Thanks,

vishrit

unfortunately there is no way of saying. It will be completed once any hits have been resolved. If you wish to read further on USCIS alien security checks, have a look at the link in my signature. A long read but it gives a good insight into what happens. Wish you all the best and I hope you hear something soon.

Sorry to hear that you are in security checks. There is no time limiit and they will not tell you which one of you or if both have had a name hit. Good luck and hopefully it will not take too long to get cleared up.

Shonjaved,

The State Department doesn't have any information on the case because the case hasn't been approved by CSC yet. The lady on the phone stated that the case is undergoing security checks from CSC.

I have no clue what is happening.
