He's going to pick someone younger than him, I am certain. He/she will probably have solid conservative credentials.

riiiiight.

I think (s)he meant neo-con credentials.

All you need is a modest house in a modest neighborhood

In a modest town where honest people dwell

If he's smart, he'll choose Giuliani.

Yes, because the Bible thumpers aren't pissed off enough.

The evangelical factor is different now. Although they are socially conservative, many of them also want to see other issues addressed, like poverty and the economy. They are no longer single issue voters.

A McCain/Giuliani would attract many Democrat and Independent voters, which happen to be showing up to vote in droves this time.

I honestly don't think McCain would select Guiliani simply because of Rudi's policies on some fundamental social issues. Whatever anyone thinks of McCain, he'll only compromise so far on principles.

Well, IMO, it would be a smart move - if he wants to win the WH back...because he can't do it with just the Republican base. He's got to appeal to Democrats and Independents who will figure heavy in the general election. Their sheer numbers are astounding...which is why Republican strategists have tried so many times in taking away their vote.

Giuliani is dead weight to him. Too many skeletons too.
