I said to my wife a few days back if the republicans have got any sense they would announce now a McCain/Huckabee ticket.

She is waiting to see who the democrats pick. If it is Obama for the 1st time in her life she will vote for the republicans.

Not buying the sales pitch. When he stops the retorick and puts some flesh on the bone she might listen. At the moment it is all hype and no substance.

Also he has no experience running anything or handling huge budgets how can anyone judge what he is or isn't capable of.

Is it just me or does anyone see a similarity between Tony Blair taking the UK labour party to the right towards the center ground to get elected and McCain taking the republicans to left towards the center ground.

The evangelical factor is different now. Although they are socially conservative, many of them also want to see other issues addressed, like poverty and the economy. They are no longer single issue voters.

A McCain/Giuliani would attract many Democrat and Independent voters, which happen to be showing up to vote in droves this time.
