I called NVC last wednesday and they told me the I-864 packet had been mailed. Because of my work schedule I was unable to send the packet I had already prepared by way of James shortcuts til saturday (now I am thinking that is a good thing). I still havent received the I-864 packet via snail mail. Now I am concerned I may have sent prematurely.

Can any one tell me how long it usually takes for the packet to arrive once mailed? And what is the worst thing that could happen if they receive the I-864 packet from me if in fact they had not yet mailed. Am I just worring for nothing?

you are fine. I think it just take time. I called last week and the message said DS3032 was sent but I didn't get anying by mail yet

Thank you for encouragement. I am starting to feel the tension again even though things are moving well and I am hopeful for a quick reunion with my husband. I am just afraid of missing something and slowing the progress due to some error on my part. I guess I am just over thinking...

:) Yes, you are overthinking this.

I don't remember if it was the DS-230 or the I-864 package they mailed to me that wasn't even dated until 2 weeks after I knew it had been 'generated' - so your I-864 is probably sitting in the mail room.

I had the same concern about it. I called NVC some day(dont remember, I am calling every day, lol) last week and spoke with operator, have been told that " as much as they know my I864 is generated and will be sent some day same week", so I mailed straight away and still didnt receive their letter/notification for it. Feel better now? :P

I want to use Jame's shortcut but I didn't know what to do with the envelope. Do they require special envelope that shows the code bar through or any envelope will do?

the envelope is not important...I have always sent in a priority envelope. just follow carefully the instructions james gives.

good luck
