Hello,

I've been reading Visa Journey for a while, and it's been so helpful--but this is the first time I've had to post. I just can't seem to find an exact answer to this anywhere.

So, my husband's two-year green card expires on 3/7/2008. We sent our I-751 to the Vermont center on February 1st. We'd wanted to send it in a little earlier, but it took longer than we'd expected to get it all together. Granted, I think we sent in an awesome packet of information--I kept joking that they would probably send us a letter asking us to never send them anything ever again, because we sent them so much. Heh.

Anyway, I'd sent the package via USPS express mail, which includes tracking, so I know that they received it on February 2nd. I'm just concerned that we won't hear back from the VSC before his card expires. What do we do if this happens? Can I just call them and ask them what to do? How early can/should I call--this week? Next week? Wait until it expires?

Thanks for any advice...Have a good day and good luck to you all!

You should hopefully receive your NOA1 by the time the GC expires which is what you need to demonstrate that you have applied for the next level of benefits.....

YMMV

I know we SHOULD, but what if we DON'T? That's what I'm afraid of! I just like to plan ahead, so I know what to do in case the worst scenario happens...
