Hi there!

I'm sorry that you've been waiting so long! My fiancee and I are in a very similar boat. As you'll see from our timeline, we filed on 7/21/07 and received NOA1 on 7/31/07...cutting it very close to the deadline of the "old" structure and, coincidentally, the old fees. Because the fees went up dramatically starting 8/1/07, I suspect there was a HUGE rush of people trying to get in before that time...myself included. Unfortunately for you and I, we are stuck in the pile that seems to be taking forever to get through.

Our story is that we received an RFE for more proof that we had met in person within the previous 2 years. We sent it back about a week later (around Christmas) and received the RFE receipt on Jan 8, 2008. Since then, we had a touch on Jan 9 and Jan 10, then we are completely stuck with no updates or correspondence since! It is FUH-RUH-STRATING!!!!!! On the RFE receipt, they said that we should expect to hear back within 60 days. At this point, we're at 37 days since they received it and have since heard nothing and have seen NO action on their part (no updates). I'm hoping to hear something soon! A Valentine's Day surprise would be AMAZING right about now!

Anyone else in the same boat??

Thanks,

Martin

Well... You are not the only one waiting so don't feel bad. I applied the beginning of June and got my first reply back for June 8, 2007. I was told it should only be 6-8 weeks so I should have my paper work totally done by the 2nd week in March. Well I still have not heard anything and my case still says pending. They said my case was 60 days over due and if i dont hear by March 21 the lady told me to call again. Since your fiance is the petitioner I would have him call USCIS and go into option 4 and then option 2 and I am not sure what option after that, but he can get a customer service rep and they can give advice on what to do. Hopefully this is helpful to you and best of luck well we all have to wait patiently :(

I highly recommend you to do the RFE trick. I did this and it work for me. I have seen it work for others too.

Try to call and ask the status about your case. You will get a touch for sure and maybe even an approval that day.

Good luck!
