:crying: I applied on July 27th and got Noa 1 on August 7th. Since then, no answer. Nothing. I have no idea what is going on. I have nothing to be suspecious. No criminal record, educated, no previous marriage, no kids, no overstay, no unauthorized working experience. I met my fiance when I was an exchange student while I was high school. Then, I got together with him seriously when I went to college. We went to the same two year college, and transfered to different university, but just 15 min away, so we lived together. After I graduated, I went back Japan to get some working and social experience. and finally my family understood me and we decided to send application. We have been together for almost 7 years, the immigration could be wonder why we did not marry, but we were students and no income or no foundation to marry. Now, he got a career and works fulltime, and have decent income to marry me. And I completed my degree and now I work and save money to marry. I have no idea what else they want us to explain. He even came to Japan in Sept 2007 and stayed with my family for one week. We sent tons of evidence. Ahhhh I cannot stand it.

Don't lose heart - remember that there have been several recent approvals for people who filed in MAY so there are some people who have waited even longer than you have. I realise it can be hard when you see people who have filed more recently being approved but that's just the luck of the draw.

You might want to get your significant other to make a call to query your case since it's been over six months and hopefully this might result in someone taking a look at it (it's probably in a pile on someone's desk right now).

Thank you very much. I know some people have waited longer than I have. I heard that they process by received date, but it seems not.

Yes, it is over 6 months and my fiance will call up on monday again, but I do not know if he can talk to a nice person.

Did you call up and get approved soon? I see some couples got approved right away after they called up and bugged the USCIS.

Sorry to hear that it is taking so long. Maybe your fiance can call and see what's up. Some people's are just taking a long time to be approved though.

I hope you get yours soon :)

Hey fellow July filer, I know exactly how you feel. It's taking WAY too long and it sucks. You're not alone though as I've been waiting slightly longer and have the same kind of background (Nothing bad) and have no idea what the holdup is. I've been told it could be just that the name generates a hit when they are doing their name checks/background checks and it's not anything to do with YOU but they have to manually check it out and that takes a long time unfortunately.

Good luck to you!! It's GOT to be SOON!!

oh, sunshinegirl; I'm so sorry :(

we applied only a week before you, and we've had our NOA2 for ages now... I simply can't even IMAGINE waiting as long as you have done :(

*hugs*

there's no RFE, is there? and you haven't heard anything about extended review, or whatever? I'm with the others who said get your partner to call them... if there was ever a reason to use the RFE trick, this is it... or get T-Bone's advice about insisting (politely but firmly!) on speaking to a supervisor, and asking them to send an email down to the floor to check on your petition - according to T-B, they can do that - and at least find out what's going on

hang in there... you're SO much closer than when you filed; hopefully it will be SOON

The Very Secret Diary of Legolas Son of Weenus - by Cassandra Claire

Day One: Went to Council of Elrond. Was prettiest person there. Agreed to follow some tiny little man to Mordor to throw ring into volcano. Very important mission - gold ring so tacky.

Day Six: Far too dark in Mines of Moria to brush hair properly. Am very afraid I am developing a tangle.

Orcs so silly.

Still the prettiest.

Day 35: Boromir dead. Very messy death, most unnecessary. Did get kissed by Aragorn as he expired. Does a guy have to get shot full of arrows around here to get any action? Boromir definitely not prettier than me. Cannot understand it. Am feeling a pout coming on.

Frodo off to Mordor with Sam. Tiny little men caring about each other, rather cute really.

Am quite sure Gimli fancies me. So unfair. He is waist height, so can see advantages there, but chunky braids and big helmet most off-putting. Foresee dark times ahead, very dark times.

Thank you everyone. You guys are so nice. Well, my fiance called today and he was told that all info was online. And we should be approved within a few weeks. OK, I do not get thie "a few weeks" part. It can be one, can be 6 or 7 weeks. I do not know what it is going on. About name check, both my fiance and I have super unusual name. Especially mine. And his one, too. I do not get it.

and I thought that name check should be conducted after noa2. That's what I have heard. The this that USCIS would check is

1, make sure both of us are single- yes we are

2, no marriage fraud- which means that we both have met each other within two years- we did

3, enough evidence -length of the relationship, photos, boarding pass, etc. well, I sent entire copy of my passport which had my previous student visa, and all stamps, and I even included my trascripts, letters from school which were sent to my fiance's house. I used to live there. and pictures. One this that bugs me is that HE MADE A MISTAKE on the DATE of our picture. One picture was taken on Sept 6th,2006, but he put July 10th, 2006. He totally mixed up with bunch of pictures. the real date was on the back of the picture, but he thought that the was a file number. da---

July 10th, I was in Japan, so USCIS might be confused, but it was simple error, so if we get RFE, we have to explain that.

Ummm, I need to be clear. Sooooo worried. Thank you evey one though;)
