Nita.. you only submitted the letter twice so far? You can do better than that.. I was expecting you to submit twice in ONE DAY..

Anyhow, some people (like me) TAKE ACTION because it has taken so long to do something already.. I have faxed HUNDREDS of faxes already (I have about 100 fax numbers, and did about 20-30 every time I faxed).. I don't bother faxing the USCIS because it will get nothing done.. get the other people to FORCE them to do things.. I had seen people who are still patiently waiting for something to get done.. that is NOT the way to approach this.. don't be afraid of the USCIS...  don't let them control your lives and your every move..

What is the Fax number you used?? i would fax it if I had the number!!! I wrote like 7 letters to various govt people and 2 time to CIS Ombudsman.... I think at least I am doing something about it, and not just waiting....

well, I called after 6 months.. about 6 1/2.. so I'm not "jumping the gun".. but you shouldn't have to call everyday.. maybe if you are really, really late (maybe like I was, at around 9 months time and still nothing)... well, you can also do some faxing letters.. ^_^

After the 6 month mark is when I started calling. They tried to tell me that it wasn't outside of the normal processing time. Here I am,9 months later and still no NOA 2.I have had it with these fools,I do not call them anymore.I just call my congressman, and his office calls them for me.

May 7,2007-USCIS received I-129f
July 24,2007-NOA1 was received
April 21,2008-K-1 visa denied.
June 3,2008-waiver filed at US Consalate in Panama
The interview went well, they told him it will take another 6 months for them to adjudicate the waiver
March 3,2009-US Consulate claims they have no record of our December visit, nor Manuel's interview
March 27,2009-Manuel returned to the consulate for another interrogation(because they forgot about December's interview),and they were really rude !
April 3,2009-US Counsalate asks for more court documents that no longer exist !
June 1,2009-Manuel and I go back to the US consalate AGAIN to give them a letter from the court in Colon along with documents I already gave them last year.I was surprised to see they had two thick files for his case !

June 15,2010-They called Manuel in to take his fingerprints again, still no decision on his case!
June 22,2010-WAIVER APPROVED at 5:00pm
July 19,2010-VISA IN MANUELITO'S HAND at 3:15pm!
July 25,2010-Manuelito arrives at 9:35pm at Logan Intn'l Airport,Boston,MA
August 5,2010-FINALLY MARRIED!!!!!!!!!!!!
August 23,2010-Filed for AOS at the International Institute of RI $1400!
December 23,2010-Work authorization received.
January 12,2011-RFE

did you have to wait 7 months for your petition to be aproved? again sometimes we have to take extreme measures to make things happen!!!!!!

Oh woe is me!! If you haven't suffered as much as I have, then you haven't suffered at all!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You know what - there's ALWAYS somebody out there who has waited longer than YOU too!

........I'm most certainly a person of action. But I also know when it is a waste of my own resources to pursue a course of action that will not result in any positive change. I have a job, a family, a life. And if I spend my time taking care of those things, I have less time to worry about how long USCIS is taking. When I embarked on this "journey" I understood that it would take a long time. Understanding the process, the risks, the potential for being denied, etc. is part of the deal.

Nobody promised anyone anything except the right to submit paperwork and apply for a visa. This is not a guarantee that anyone will be allowed into the US let alone that anyone will be processed within a given period of time. ......

Right there is the bottom line.

Very true - but you forgot something- and to cash the check - must not forget that little goodie

Suz - I'm not sure I 'get' you, but I think you are saying you paid for a service. That's true. And the service isn't what it could be, yet it is better than it used to be. Hard to believe, but you and I both know that is true. There used to be NO website, NO information line - no nothing. A complete and total blackhole.

And it's never going to be 'microwave'. It shouldn't be. It's immigration - it's a privilege, not a right.

Just because you 'pay' for something doesn't mean you get it right now. Our world operates much faster than it did even as short as twenty years ago. Many people are used to getting what they want, when they want it. Immigration isn't like that. The service is horribly crippled because it hasn't had the pressing need or the money to keep up technologically. Do you know any other system that is still paper based? I don't.

The sooner participants in this system realize that it is not personal that they don't have their answer right away - that they don't have the visa right away - the less stress they will suffer. The only reason they are waiting is the system is archaic and trying desperately to come into the 21st century. They will still be lonely at night - they will still miss their wife, husband, fiance/fiancee. But they will understand that there isn't something 'wrong' with their case. And that can go miles and miles in making the separation easier to bear.

Rebecca, as you and I discussed I agree, but the check issue was that was something we knew would happen also - no doubt on that issue - was not implying that we pay for a service and we do not get what we paid for - oh wait - maybe I was - darn - lol - got caught up in the USCIS loses in court and got all jazzed - as you know, I dont know what will come of this whole fiasco as I like to put it, but hopefully somewhere down the road, it improves for future VJ's -

Cheers ;)

You may wish to remember that most of us that are almost at the end of this visa journey have been where you are right now.... we all had to learn patience and yes some find it easier than others..... but to call a number that is not a general enquiry number and then be angry because they dont help you is just silly..... the number is there for people who have received a RFE not for everyone to use to chase up their case as and when they feel the need....

Sure if you feel your case is taking too long write to everyone you can think of.... make an infopass appointment at your local office and talk to a immigration officer about it.... but dont use a dedicated line as a general info line and then complain when it does not get you what you want....

Kez

My post seems to have turned us VJ'ers against each other. That's sad...

To Kez, and everyone else who is critical on this thread: Please remember that I posted this thread NOT to get angry that calling the RFE line got me no where, but to complain that a CSC representative LIED TO ME about my app being on HOLD (reread the original post if you need to). You can say what you want about my use of the RFE line (and by the way it won't change the fact that when I call again I WILL USE THE RFE LINE), but PAH-leeeze don't tell me you defend the actions of Becky?? THAT is what this post was about, folks. You've taken it in the wrong direction. I didn't say, "Gee, I'm really upset that I'm not getting my way down there at the CSC." I didn't even post to complain that I have to be patient. I merely posted about the LIE, and about the rude treatment I got from Becky. You have taken this into areas that I did not mean for it to go.

As a representative of 1) USCIS, 2) our gov't, and 3) us (you and me petitioners), no CSC officer should stoop to that level. That's the bottom line on this post for me.

I think I-130-spousal visa it takes time than Fiancee visa I-129F. Perhaps, I'm wrong about these.

we didn't say you're lying.. just be patients. We were like you too.. Waiting..waiting..waiting but my husband didn't wearing his mind out instead just booked a flights to see me then back to a life of waiting again till we got approved  .

Oh well, those of us who cannot afford to travel back and forth as frequently would like the USCIS to hurry up.At least process the cases within the normal processing times and not lie to people when questioned about them taking so long.

it'll be fine . ours took almost a year.. we received 2 RFE letters from USCIS so it was our fault.
