Is this a PI or US phone number? is it incomplete, or am I just missing something?

Yes, it is a PI phone number. You will need to dial 011-63 first though. 02 is the area code for Manila, then the number.

ok thank you the phone number over there are often confusing to me.

for instance my gfs cell has 011-63 then 10 digits wereas this one seems to have 011- 63 and 9 digits.

can anyone try to explain the differences to me????

The area codes are only used with landlines. If your girlfriend has a cellphone, then it is going to be a 10 digit number starting with a 09. Try not to make much sense of it. The first 4 digits in a cellphone just determine which cellphone carrier the sim card is. (I lived in the Philippines for two years...and in that time, you pick up a few things...haha.....)

Hello Everyone,

I just read in the newspaper that there's going to be a travel expo this feb 15 to 17 at smx bldg. (that's the bldg. on the side of the Mall of Asia). If you guys want to get a good deal, then this is the time to go there. there are various travel agencies so its like a one stop shop, you can readily compare prices and taxes. i have noticed that different travel agencies qoute different amounts with regards to travel tax ( excluding phil. travel tax which is a fixed amount of Php 1,620.00 and for kids Php 810.00 if you get a reduced travel tax from the department of tourism). Well that's just my 2 cents worth cause i've been going to one whenever it coincides with my leaving the country for vacations.

Hi, I just want to ask if K1 visa holder should have a 2 way ticket.

It will cost my fiance $2810, two 2-way tickets (dfw - manila, mnila - dfw (for him) and manila-dfw, dfw-manila(for me)).

The travel agent insists that he get a 2-way ticket for me, because i'll be subject for deportation if I have 1-way ticket only, since im non-immigrant. He's afraid that its true. So he's getting me a 2-way ticket.

I know that I have to get a 1-way ticket only, but how can I convince him that his travel agent is wrong, that the 2-way ticket is only applicable for tourist or work-related visa with single entry.

Is there any writing about K1 visa that I only need to get 1-way? (So I can slap it to his agent's face when I get there hehe :) just kidding)

Pls help us! We could save a lil money from these, I'm leaving on April, its peak season, fares are higher and (non-valuable) expenses like this (purchasing a 2-way ticket for me) is not good. :help::help::help:

RUN!!!!! GO TO ANOTHER TRAVEL AGENT!!!! That guy is trying to take you for a long ride on a short pier. The K-1 only needs a one-way ticket, but there are a few bad agents out there that try to work on your fear of not being admitted to the USA. While there is a very slim chance they could still refuse entry at the POE...it is highly unlikely in my opinion. Find a good travel agent that will sell you a one=way ticket and kick that other guy to the curb!

A K-1 is a non-immigrant visa because IF you don't marry in 90 days it expires and you must leave the USA. The USCIS knows full and well that as long as you marry within 90 days you are not going back home and you will adjust status to permanent resident. Your K-1 visa is even processed by the IMMIGRANT VISA UNIT. You don't need to listen to that guy. Just find another agent or at the very least insist on the one-way ticket from him. I would go to another agent.

Just my opinions.

Just a quick message to all those out there. Edward Mabunga, from WWW.EMABUNGA.COM who is a Filipino travel agent here in Utah, talked with me on the phone for a while yesterday. He suggested that find travel agents out in Manila and that would we would get the best prices from them. I have noticed a few good contacts posted in this thread, and I have also found a lot of good agents on this website:

http://www.philippinetraveler.com/philippi...el-agencies.htm

I have already gotten a quote for $660 taxes included from Manila to Salt Lake. Go ahead and take it for what it's worth and make sure they know this is for a first time immigrant K-1 visa. If your fiancee lives near Manila, have her go compare prices with some local travel agents going straight through to your destination. This will be much better than any of the online fares we can get here.
