The CIS officer requested my sis and her husband to submit their child's birth certificate within 30-days from the interview day. But it takes 6-week to receive birth certificate. On the letter that officer gave them said "No extension of the period allowed to submit evidence will be granted." I don't know how to get it fast. Please advice!

Thanks,

When did they have the baby??

And also, once the baby is born they should be able to go directly to their state's health department to apply rather than send off for it.

If they definitely can't get it within the time constraints, I suggest they make an Infopass appointment.

Why didn't they tell the officer they wouldn't be able to get in the time frame given?

There was a long story behind the child was born. No one said to the mom or gave her the form that she needs to fill out and apply for her child's birth certificate. At the hospital gave her the hard sheet with her child's footprint on it and it says Birth Certificate on the top. So we thought that was the one. I was so busy and couldn't help her. So she has contacted other service to help but 2 weeks went by and they haven't responsed. I've found this link but not sure if it helps https://infopass.uscis.gov/info_en.php or should we go to the local office and talk to the officer in person?. I haven't done this before. So have no clue or direction :-(

Thanks so much for the helps.

Where did you get the figure of six weeks from??

Instead of waiting for whoever the 'other service' is to respond, she needs to follow it up in person.

Has she contacted the hospital for the form?

They may well be able to do it on the same day, since they have all the records.

That's the link that you need to schedule an Infopass appointment with, they will give them the date for them to come and speak to them in person

They have to send that form to the state capitol. If they're able to make it on the same day. I rather tell my sis to drive up there and provide them all the info that they need. So we don't have to wait because due date is coming soon.

You can go into your local office in person and request one. You should get it within a couple of days.

I had my interview last week and only took the hospital issued BC for our baby. The IO asked about the "real" one and we just told him we had not sent off for it yet. He was fine with that and we were approved. I guess it just depends on who you get on the day.

Good luck!!!!

Thanks you all so much, my sis was able to get money back from that lawyer. But one thing after we've submitted all the evidence that officer requested. We noticed that we missed one letter, which my sis didn't tell me that they need to submit 2 original letters. I only submitted the first page. So should I submit the second page? On that letter, it says we have to submit all evidence at once :-(

Thanks again.

any advice guys?

I'll bump this for you but I don't understand the question. "Two letters" "Second page" You had just asked about a birth certificate.

The Request for Evidence letter that CIS officer gave to my sis at the end of interview day. The officer told her to submit the RFE and the checked instructions (it tells us what to submit) letters but she forgot to tell me to submit them both. So I thought they only asked for the RFE letter, which it said clearly on that letter "PLACE THIS LETTER ON TOP OF YOUR RESPONSE".
