Hi Everybody,

Am getting ready to make my move to US. Before I leave, I have to plan some of my ongoing liabilities which follows here.

1) Last year I made some investments that gets auto debited from my account every month. Since those investments are under locking period I cannot withdraw them at this point of time when I need it the most :-( I could have easily managed it, if I were to be in India even after marriage. But now I know that I will not be able go back to India untill I get AOS. And am also not sure by what time I will get a good job offer in US. Hence I have to arrange funds for it for next couple of months. So that I dont have to worry untill I get Job in US. My Fiance did offer me help however as of now I want to see how much I can handle myself.

2) I am also trying to get my accounts and liabilities either automated or online. So that if need be I can handle it through web. Dont want to bother my parents back home for it.

3) I own a car here in India which no one will be using at home after me. I want to sell it off too before I leave. Dont want to see it depreciating without any reason.

4) I will have to give at least 1 months notice to my employer before leaving. I have been reading posts where people were issued 221g hence keeping my liabilities in mind, I havnt resigned yet. I will do so as soon as I get visa in hand. Other reason for not resigning is; last time when I took break of a months time from work I got so irritable and bored that my Fiance felt I remain happy when I am occupied. I agree to him. :-)

5) I also want to keep some funds for my parents, though my Dad gets a decent pension and my brother earns a handsome paystub too. Still I want to do this because being always independent I have felt of doing something extra for my parents for what they have done for me till now.

6) After all this I will be left with very little to spend for my shopping :-(

Now My interview is scheduled after 10 days on 20th Feb. However I am planning to be with my Fiance in US by first week of March. So this leaves some 15 days which is really freaking me out. Wanted to see how other people manage. May be I can get some smart tips.

Thanks,

Manya
