I sent it off via priority mail this morning (with delivery confirmation), so it should arrive early next week. Now I'm just sitting on the edge of my seat until I hear something.

Just a quick timeline question...I was setting mine up and he is going to be going to the Calgary Consulate, but I can't find that option in the list that they provide? The only one I'm seeing is the Ottawa Embassy...is there an option that I'm just not seeing somewhere? I know I saw K-1 people with other consulates.

See my timeline for my K-1 and AOS/EAD/AP details.

Welcome to VJ!!! :)

Congrats on filing!!!

You would either be going through the Montreal or Vancouver Consulates. They are the only Consulates in Canada currently doing the K interviews.

Best of luck! :)

Well...drat :o Any idea if it will affect my petition if we put Calgary on it? He's from Winnipeg and the consulate site for them referred us to Calgary. :/

I just had to say that I found it entertaining that you met while playing City of Heroes...we met while playing World of Warcraft. :) Crazy world it's turning into! I'll try not to worry...but it's going to make me crazy until I hear back from them, of course. I personally hope he has to go to Montreal...their interview wait times seem lower ;)

lol funny!

Nick and I actually fell in love on WoW. We play that now, we stopped COH about a year ago.

You can't choose which consulate you go to, but he very well may be able to go to Montreal. They will choose for him, I don't know where Winnipeg falls.

Actually, Vancouver is way faster than Montreal.

I wish you much luck!!! :)

I found out!

He will be going to Vancouver.

Link

The Consulate in Vancouver processes fiancé(e) cases for citizens of Canada, or aliens who are permanent residents. Individuals in Canada on student and/or employment authorization will be considered on a case-by-case basis. Such individuals must be authorized to remain in Canada for a continuous minimum period of six months (from the time the approved petition is received at the Consulate). Applicants must also be residing in British Columbia, Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba, the Yukon or the Northwest Territories. All other applicants in Canada are processed at the U.S. Consulate in Montreal.

Thank you so much for finding that for me! I'll just keep my fingers crossed that they don't RFE it because I put the wrong consulate. I have the bad habit of worrying about things once they're out of my control. :(

I'm sure you won't..I've seen people on here who have done the same and their case was simply sent to the correct consulate.

Don't worry.

If you do get an RFE (for that or anything else) simply send them what they request. It shouldn't put your case behind too much..possibly just by a few weeks.

:) Smiles.

Yeah no worries on getting an RFE. I did the exact same thing, put Calgary as the consulate, and I was freaking out thinking it would cause delays, but it didn't. They just automatically sent it to the correct one (in this case, Vancouver since I live in BC).

Good luck!

That is incredibly comforting to hear! I'll stop worrying about it...as my fiance and I keep reminding each other: It's out of our hands now. All we can do is wait...if only that was as easily done as said. :D
