Don't know where I could possibly post this but I do it here. In the example forms page, there is the form G-325A for fiance, and it has information on it. Adobe says no data can be saved but there is data saved when you close or open it. How do you save data inspite of it saying so? Any special means on doing that. It would make it a lot easier to print out forms, with data on it.

The example forms here on VJ are just that, example forms. They are meant to be used as an example on how to complete the form. Technically they are able to be saved to your computer and your relevant info typed in as they are fillable and are able to be saved. However that is not a good practice as forms do change and forms on VJ are not always the most up to date. Use the forms available in the links in the download section. These links are direct to the USCIS site. Fishdude is correct, it will be an issue with the adobe version you are using. For a free trial version of Adobe Acrobat Pro 7 see the link in my signature. Not all forms on the USCIS site are fillable. To find fillable forms you can download the forms from visapro.com as these are also the most current forms.

Yep - stick with the example forms as a guide only and download the latest versions from the USCIS website.

The reason I said it might be to with the way in which the file is set up is that when the PDF is generated through Adobe Acrobat Writer, the author can specify what readers can do with the document - from removing the ability to print, make changes or save copies of the document. It did say however that changes could not be saved - only the 'author' would be able to do it.

I just gave it a try and I was able to download the file without any problems - so my best guess is that its to do with the version of Acrobat you are running. They're up to version 7 now - the latest version of Acrobat reader is free to download, from the sound of it you might still be running version 6 or 7. So if you still want to download the examples try upgrading.

Well I have the latest Adobe Reader version. I can save date on the I-129F form but not on the G-325A form, quite strange if you ask me. So I'm trying to find a way to bypass that, if I can because the G-325A is four pages long and can mean a lot of handwriting.

I believe with the paid version of Adobe Reader you can save all documents, not sure.

I managed to find a way to fill out the form and saving the data. All I had to do was just type it once and it filled the other 3 pages in as well.

In that case it may simply be that the author has restricted the document functionality for that one file. Hard to tell without actually opening it up myself.

Yeah, the author of that file restricted the local save command. The paid version bypasses that. :)
