Rescheduling Biometrics Appointment

Hi everyone!

I have received my biometrics appointment; unfortunately, it is scheduled for a day when I am out of town. I will need to reschedule. Does anyone have experience with this? How long does it take to receive a new appointment? Also, I will be out of town for a two-day stretch in early April; should I let them know about this when I send in my request to reschedule? Is it likely to make a difference?

my husband was also out of town when his biometrics letter came...go figure he was waiting 3 years for fbi name check to clear and they sent his biometrics right after i took him to the airport.

i think it says on it what to do. for his i just had to make a copy of the letter and added a small note that he was out of the country could they make the apt sometime in janurary for us. they sent another letter about 3 weeks later for the apt.

also one time he couldnt make it for his bio's for ead so i think i remember the letter saying if we needed to reschedule we could call the 1-800 number for info. i think they took walk-ins on wednesdays or something like that.

my son and I got appointments on different days and since it's an hour and half drive, I sent in a request to get them scheduled together. It's clear on the appt. letter how to reschedule. However, after about a week and I didn't hear an answer, I called the 1-800 line. They told me what the new date was (which was about 3 weeks after the original) and to take my original appt. letters.

Good thing I called, the letter with the new date arrived a couple of days after the appointment.

Thanks, guys! My question was not so much about how to reschedule (which is, indeed, clearly explained on the form), but rather about the time frames involved. Looks like they're reasonable. Also, good to know about calling if a new appt. letter doesn't arrive soon. Thanks again!

Is there a number on the appointment letter that you can call, I can't find Claudeth's right now.

the number on the letter is 1-800-375-5283

if I remember correctly, it's the same Customer Service line that is on USCIS's website. I think I also had to give the WAC # as well.
