Hello all! I did a search and checked the faq before posting, and I aoplogize in advance if this is a silly question but here goes...

My wife (came in with the i-129F) is filing the i-485 in conjunction with the i-765 (application for employment). We live in New York and mailed the forms together to the Mesquite TX location specified on the i-485. The forms were returned yesterday saying we should mail them to the correct location. But it does not say where! I don't want to risk mailing them out again only to have them returned and the hold time for the immigration number is too long for my cell phone minutes!

I'd like to know where to mail the i-485 and the i-765 forms. Should they be mailed separately or together? Any help will be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

The entire AOS package has to be mailed to chicago.

Note: When filing for Adjustment of Status K1 and K3 Visa holders are now required to submit their paperwork to the National Address (Chicago Lockbox) instead of at their local CIS office. This procedure became effective for all applicants in April 2005.

For those adjusting status (I-485 and I-765) from a K-1 visa you need to mail your papers to the chicago lockbox address, as specified by the I-485 form. If you mail it with US Post, certified and return receipt(recommended), mail it to:

USCIS

P.O. Box 805887

Chicago, IL 60680-4120

For a private courier (Fedex, DHL) use this address:

USCIS

Attn: FBASI

427 S. LaSalle - 3rd Floor

Chicago, IL 60605-1029

You only mail it to the Texas Service center, if you have an underlying approved I-140 (Immigrant Petition for Alien Worker), not a I-129F Fiancee Visa petition.

Good luck,

-P
