Radio host 'to be Bush spokesman'

Conservative radio presenter Tony Snow is to be named as US President George W Bush's new press secretary, Republican party officials have said.

Correspondents say Mr Snow, who was a speechwriter for the president's father, has sometimes criticised Mr Bush for not being conservative enough.

He currently hosts two shows on the Fox News network owned by the media magnate Rupert Murdoch.

Tony Snow is a very well respected news person and will do a good job for Pres Bush. Bush doesn't need a spin doctor, only someone that will counter the liberal press and their strong-arm tacticts. Personally I have had enough of the main stream press and their liberal bias.

Whoever said I was a democrat, or had any sympathies that way?

The resignations of Rove and McClellan were intended to give the impression of some sort of positive action after the various corruption scandals that have dogged this administration. This appointment amounts to little more than business as usual, but that's no surprise of course.

what a nice change. This man has the intellect to counter the stupid questions asked everyday by so called reporters who generally are no better than papperozzies (sp??), and continually hammer away with the same stupid question, and generally bog down the process of getting out the news.

I thin they should just abolish the job the way that it been been done the past few yers. Might as well as get the same ppl they that drove Princess Diana to her death.
