non-US spouse visa question

Hey all,

I'm pretty new to this forum and applying for visas so any help you can offer would be greatly appreciated. I live in Turkey with my Turkish spouse. We got married here last year and have never been to the U.S. together due to the difficulty in getting my husband a visa. We want to just visit the US to see my family for a couple weeks not immigrate there. I thought a tourist visa would be best but at the US embassy they don't seem willing to offer a tourist visa to the spouse of an american living overseas. Their advice is to apply for the K-3 visa but we don't want to immigrate so that seems like the wrong visa. Does anyone have any experience with this? What visa did you apply for in order to just visit with your spouse?

Wow, that's kind of a Catch 22. Normally, I would say the K3 visa is the way to go. Then you simply stay less than two years and never file to adjust status to permanent resident. The problem is that at the moment, USCIS seems to be changing their procedures making the K3 no longer a viable option. This is a new development that is quite perplexing. Until it is resolved, I don't see it as a viable option.
