You need to prepare yourself for the driving test with 24 hours of theorethical classes in a private driving school, plus a minimum of 12 hours of driving practice - and you are only allowed to do that with a certified driving teacher. So you can't practice driving around with your parents or friends, it has to be done with a private driving school. And because of all that it costs roughly €1.500 to get your license. And it takes months until you can to your test. It's really quite ridicilous.

Yes same thing in Germany,I ended up paying like 2000 Euros for mine, kinda annyoing if I would of known I was going to meet my husband I would not of done it LOL

I am 29 and I don't have a driver's license. When people find out, their reaction usually is like this:

omg.gif

But there was no need to do it, I always lived in big cities with public transportation and taxis. I can't possibly be the only person without a driver's license, I thought. So therefore I created the poll!

Come on peeps, come out of your "I can't drive" closets!

(I kind of think this might backfire on me and I am really the only one without one. LOL)

I've had my license since I was 16.I cannot imagine life without a licensce.

i don't i'm a mexican illegal driver

I'm the USC and I just got my first DL about a month ago -- at the ripe old age of 34! Growing up I lived in a city with fairly decent public transport, then went to uni in the same city (bus rides home to do laundry :P ). Left America 6 months after graduation to live in London where I never really got around to getting my licence (though I did take some very disastrous driving lessons round the back of Fulham FC's grounds), though I did own a car which my British husband used. Took me another 5 months after returning to America last year to actually get my DL. Now I wonder how I actually coped all those years without it.
