Hello to everybody,

can anybody tell me how the medical exams for the K1 Visa

application work? I mean, I have noticed in this website that

sometimes people get their exams before having the interview

so that means (I guess) they receive the medical instrucions

in between Package 3 and Package 4, but then I have noticed that some peole get their

medical exams even before getting their Package 3, so how does it work?

Do they have different rules accordingly to the country of the applicant?

I'm in Italy I got just the approval of the petition, we got our NOA2, so actually

I'm waiting for getting Package 3 from the local American Consulate, so at the moment

I guess I should just wait to get the Package 3 with probably containing the medical

instructions in order to get my exams?Am I right?

AOS:01/29/2007 received Permanent Resident Card (GC)

ROC:04/11/2009 received Permanent Resident Card (GC) expiring in 2019!!!!

N-400:

on 05/21/2010 Sent out docs to Arizona Lockbox Facility address via USPS

on 06/30/2010 Biometrics

on 09/24/2010 Interview Day - Passed the Test

on 10/19/2010 Oath - USA CITIZEN!!!!!

on 10/20/2010 I requested the US Passport

on 11/02/2010 the US Passport was received by Priority Mail

on 11/03/2010 @ the Social Security Office I changed my status from Resident to US Citizen

ON THE 3RD OF NOV.2010 MY JOURNEY ENDS, WHICH STARTED IN DEC. 2005!!!!!!!THANKS TO VJ & VJ PPL!!!!!!!!

If someone on here has been thru the embassy you are going thru they would have a better idea. Check the embassy website for your country.

We downloaded the forms from the embassy web site. Then went to the medical.

Check here for info on your embassy...

09/05/2005 Met Tik thru my brothers Thai Wife

12/01/2005 First meeting in Thailand

12/12/2005 Returned to the USA

12/13/2005 I-129F mailed express mail to TSC

12/15/2005 TSC Recived paperwork

12/21/2005 Noa-1

12/27/2005 Noa-1 recieved snail mail dated Dec 21 transfered to CSC

03/14/2006 NOA 2

03/16/2006 Medical, Police report and postal fee paid.

03/21/2006 NVC Sent to Bangkok

03/24/2006 Bangkok gets package tracked online with DHL

03/27/2006 Mailed in packet 3

04/04/2006 Interview assigned May 22 2006

05/22/2006 Interview day... delayed Approval because of FBI NAME CHECK

05/26/2006 VISA RECIEVED!!!!!!!!!!

05/27/2006 POE LAX ..MY BABY IN AMERICA!!!!

06/17/2006 Wedding DAY!!!!!!!!!!!! MARRIED!!!

you can get the medical forms online, i'm pretty sure there is no reason to wait for them to arrive in one of the packets. I got the forms online and scheduled a medical, when I arrived to have everything done, the panel physician had all the same forms ready!

the only thing to bear in mind is how long the medical is valid. usually a year, but some expire after 6 months, so you don't want to do it too early...
