Hello Wonder-full AOS VJers,

I could use some help over here.

:help: :help: :help:

(Posted in February filers, but to no avail.

Will try in its own thread.)

A couple of questions - for now and for later - and off goes my package as well...phew!

1. Should I wait for my SSN to arrive (applied Jan31st) to fill in those fields on the 3 forms?

Or simply put "pending" or something and send them.

2. I am following Krikit's (aka Crikey) advice and not bothering with getting my DS 3025 transfered to the I-693A. I can not believe how many times i am certain they have not read a single thing I/we have typed/written up for them. I found an error and it blew my mind that they didn't catch it on my first G325A bio stuff. Ha.

3. The AP: as per what Crikey told me this in the forums, "Your travel dates are to be determined and your reason for travel is preparation in the event of an emergency and/or to visit family." and my question now is this:

on page 2 part 3 it says in bold to skip to part 7 if applying for AP Document. What is the diff? What document? In the sample form from VJ there are so many blank fields and there is not much to follow. So I should just write the above phrase in one of the fields somewhere?? Ahhhh... help help!

4. As far as "evidence of marriage" goes, we are most definitely a real married couple. I have kept my birth name though and our bank accounts are separate and the house was his (8 years) and so it is in his name, etc etc...we are planning on moving into the city and we will put both our names on the lease or if we buy a condo on the ownership papers (whatever they are called). The US bank account I have had for over 2 years and as both of us in our 40s we have had a long life as individuals...what would you recommend we pool together to appease USCIS?

Thanks for any and all advice. :star:

You can leave the SSN field empty and need not fill-in if you don't have the number

You need I-693A...Read the instructions for I-485, it clearly states you need vaccination supplement. don't spend no more than 35 bucks to get the supplemental form filled out...check your local county health dept...

You can submit a copy of your marriage certificate as "evidence of marriage" while applying for AOS.

Good luck!

AOS from a K-1 is pretty simple. Marriage certificate. You can include some evidence of anything that has happened since you got here if you like.

For ours, since he did not have a SSN, he was on nothing. I submitted our Marriage certificate and some pictures, a copy of his vaccination record from JA.

All that is really required is that you followed through on the marriage.

We were approved without an interview.

Life's just a crazy ride on a run away train

You can't go back for what you've missed

So make it count, hold on tight find a way to make it right

You only get one trip

So make it good, make it last 'cause it all flies by so fast

You only get one trip

If you read the I-485 instructions clearly it indicates the need for a vacciantion supplement... Anecdotal evidence indicates that the DS-3025 fulfills this requirement as well.....

YMMV

1. Should I wait for my SSN to arrive (applied Jan31st) to fill in those fields on the 3 forms?

No, as mentioned it's not required. I didn't have one and I put 'do not have one yet' in the fields

2. I am following Krikit's (aka Crikey) advice and not bothering with getting my DS 3025 transfered to the I-693A. I can not believe how many times i am certain they have not read a single thing I/we have typed/written up for them. I would go with Krikit's advice. the worst they could come back with is a request for the I693A, right? At least you won't have spent $$$ needlessly right now

3. The AP: as per what Crikey told me this in the forums, "Your travel dates are to be determined and your reason for travel is preparation in the event of an emergency and/or to visit family." and my question now is this:

I believe I put info in part 4 (but skipped 5,& 6) since you're not a refugee or looking for re-entry. I filled out part 7, but strangely I do not rememerb incluing a separate sheet with info...hmmm

Here's what we have done or plan to do shortly: joint names on lease or rental agreement. Both names on a few utilities, we are the beneficiaries on life insurance and that sort of thing. also joint account owners at the bank. I would not worry about keeping your name, that's a common thing these days.

Thank you so very much all of you. (F) (F) (F)

I guess I thought that if I wait another week for my SSN to arrive it might help expedite thingies.

Getting antsy... hahaha!
