Checking case status update

Q : I received my receipt notice, but when I check my case online it does not appear. How do I get my case added to the system so I can check its progress?

USCIS had an unprecedented number of applications filed over the summer. Our efforts to enter these applications into our systems have caused a delay in the transfer of information from our case control system to the Case Status Online system. We are experiencing delays of up to 3 to 4 weeks between receipting your application and its status being available www.uscis.gov. If you have additional questions after your information is available on Case Status Online, please call the National Customer Service Center at 1-800-375-5283.

LOL up to 3 to 4 weeks, luv it..........what about 6-8 weeks too funny

So just for a change of subject I called them today said yes its been way over 4 weeks and they said are you sure you have a I-797C?? OMG fell off the chair - hung up because felt that conversation was going to be futile act of extracting teeth from a shark - take one out another one grow in its place

I still have nothing more than a measly reciept. I don't really believe anymore I'll live with my wife in the USA. Need to get agressive on pursuing another place to live. 5 years is NOT a reasonable wait in the least. I don't want children I can't see or raise, and starting a family in 5 to 7 years will create serious heath risks.

Charles manson had a right to a trial withing 60 days. I have to wait 5 or 10 years ?? f that.

HOHO did u ever receive your NOA1 hard copy or is that MIA also? Not that it means alot as Vermont seems to have issues about inputting them in for some peeps - but again it will happen she will get here, but when tis just another game of craps and I for one am tired of being in the casino

just a reciept... I assume a reciept isn't actually a NOA1.

Reading about so many cases that are total nightmares...and I'm that track.

Going to visit wife soon, and will feel out idea of me immigrating elsewhere when we visit.

Alto.d, we didn't get hard copy either though the check was cashed on Jan 23th. My husbad called CSC and asked what happened. After two hours and all the questions about our names and birthdates and addresses they gave us Our Case Number and told us that our NOA1 hard copy was sent on Jan. 17th. I think it just got lost if it was even sent. The CSC told us that they will send us a new hard copy. But now we have a case number and we can check our application status online. So try calling VMT and tell them that your check was cashed and ask for you case number. Of course VMT filers can't always see their cases online.

Thanks Evgeniya...Actually my conressman got the receipt number for me which is off by one digit from the number I have on back of the cancelled check. I hope next thing we hear is the approval. My case is not showing up online though I am going to call them tomorrow.

Alto - dont do it lol look at what they told me the sods...grrrrrr...still cant access and got it 12.21.07 -just kidding but would luv to hear what they tell you on this one and yes there are alot that are off by one number from check being cased.

p.s but if they ask you are u sure you have the I-797 and its in your name and SO, dont fall off the chair ok? When they said that to me and I said blah blah blah yes of course I do ya took my 355 - they hung up on me
