Thanks for relating your experience at Montreal. You got approved, that's all that matters and you got MG (movie voice guy) who does indeed look like a movie version of a sports hero or resembles Matthew Modine, depending on who you ask. Mom calls him the Mormon guy because he looks like what everyone's idea of a Mormon looks like. Since you were getting approved, MG figured you could b*tch about the US, just like a real resident. Special thanks to you for the extra info on MG's education, you can bet all those VJers going for their interviews in the satrapy of Canada will start memorizing Anabasis as soon as possible. For those wondering, as I was about to write the review last night my right middle finger got caught in my chair and pinched so badly it ripped the pad of my finger open and was bleeding everywhere. I say nothing about the serendipity of which finger it was.

Speaking of which, when we got off the elevator and the security guard told us to go straight (aka left around the barrier and then straight) and then right down the windows to drop off our packet 4 letter plus our A, B, C, or D card/magnet/thing from security, we milled around in confusion after the left-then-straight until the security guard walked through us and led us there.

I actually 'baa'd on the way to Jess and then realized that could have been taken as some sort of anti-American political statement and I quickly pointed out that I felt the need to bleat as I felt like a bewildered and nervous sheep; we were blindly 'flocking' and would be lost and confused without the security guard to follow.

No argument he was the most ornate and posh of the bunch. Bet his chrome rims be spinnin'. Just look at his plush stylin' in the Oh Rest I, Eh? Those insta-carpets don't come cheap.

Since you'll get this joke, one of the funniest things I can remember is when a friend of mine and I were discussing a quote along the lines of "The man gets the Pretty woman, the Gods the Ugly one." The first three words were "thv mev yunaika" and this wannabe-Prussian (meaning he was constantly trumpting about his Prussianhood, even though he was second or third generation and knew diddly about his language) foists himself into our conversation, bawls "I can read this, because as a Prussian I understand Cyrillic: Uh, 10 men in the gunaika?"

Me and my friend: ... ... ...

We ended up toppling off the bar's couch in a heap, laughing too hard to stand. Maybe I should have told that story to the CO.

Your anecdote about being in the bar is beyond hilarious. Everytime I think about it I crack up, yet am strangely aroused. I keep thinking of MG's expression if you had told him the story. Was the Prussian wannabe dressed in a 1890s Prussian cavalry officer's uniform by any chance? There's only one guy I know who dresses like that, and I always heard that he was into young boys.
